Yeah, long time no blog. :) I had a lot of dentist and doctor appointments I need to get done. And I really didn't feel like blogging. My seasonal disorder makes me had the winter months, dark, dark, dark. Short daylight days just don't do well with me.

I've been getting ready for Triple Treasures Market Place May 9th at Hardenville, MO. I got about 5 mystery boxes between Christmas and my birthday in February. They were opened and sorted through. It was fun opening them to discover what was inside. Now what I don't want I'm putting in $10 grab bags and setting on a table to sell at TTMP. Hopefully it all sells. There are a few things I'm selling separate but on the whole the small things are going in mystery grab bags.

I 'd like to try to finish the Elemental Voice series. I need to finish a series and promote the he!! out of it. I have over 14 books out yet not one series completed. So I'm going to try to focus on Elemental Voice as it is almost finished. I have 1 additional book in EV plus the 2 novellas. So Deadly Sea, Deadly Tempest, and Spirit Talker are still to come in the EV world.

Then I have 2 books that have been in the queue for awhile that I want to get out. That is if my muse let's me. My muse is fickle as I said and I don't know what she will do. Plans mean nothing to her. But the Alliance book is one of these two. It's been sitting there for a long time and it's about time for it to come out.

I've still been looking for more in-person events near me but when you're in nowhere Missouri and most of the events are on the East & West coasts...Well it makes the travel prohibitive. I've signed up for 2 this year. But the one I had to skip because of lack of funds. Would be nice if I made enough to fund that trip but I have to snag money from my disability to cover the rest and I can't really justify it this year. The two I signed up for are local and fair money makers.

In Elemental Voice, the FMC reads the earth like a medium hears the dead and finds buried items--mostly dead bodies--for the local sheriff's office at the beginning in a world where psychics work regularly with law enforcement and vampires live next door. In Ghostwolf the MMC sees the evil humans do to one another every day as a Homicide detective and hates the necessity of his job. But this murder—it raises his hackles. What he uncovers is far more than a pathological motive, it's like something out of a horror movie or a Grimm's fairy tale. Everything points to a supernatural being, a werewolf, as the killer, causing him to doubt himself—and his mysterious new partner. The year is almost over. Time has done that weird fast and slow thing it does, days pass slow but the months speed by. There was a lot I wanted to get done this year but alas, it has not happened. Seasonal Disorder has slowed me down, however I plan to correct that. I will be kicking myself back into gear and working on my WIP. Two novellas were to be pubbed this year but my muse has been fickle and I mean to get her back on the job. Thousands of books are in my head and they need to get out to make room for more. It is sooo crowded in my head.

It's November already. This year has gone by fast but depressingly as well. I did not make much this year from my in-person sales and my online sales were even lower than ever. So much for a 'better' economy.

I didn't finish winterizing yet. It's getting cooler but I enjoy the weather so far. Not too cold at night and warm enough during the day. Lovely weather. My parents though think it's cold and wear their thin jackets.

I've been working on a couple of WIPs. It's slow going as my muse is being her fickle self.

Halloween is just around the corner. I love this holiday, though I rarely indulge. There's not much in the way of social events here and so no Halloween parties for adults. Schools do their thing and there's a bit of trick or treating for the kids. The bank tellers dress up some. If I ever win the lottery I'm going to make a yearly Halloween event wherever I land in October.

It's also time to Winterize my trailer. The skirting needs to go up sometime this month and the furnace will need a check. Though usually that happens the first cold night we have. A couple of evenings have dropped to 50* already which feels just right to me.

It's September which means Hootin An Hollarin, a craft festival here in Gainesville MO on the third week of the month. There will be demonstrations and games as well as craft displays. I will be manning my booth alone that Friday and Saturday as always since I don't have an assistant or any family who wants to help. The festival actually starts Thursday Evening with pageantry and music but since it rarely entails sales that evening I skip that. Others make a few sales here and there that evening yet on the whole most people go for the music and to look but not to buy. I love doing in-person events and this is a very fun event. If you're in the neighborhood stop on by and enjoy some down home music and beautiful crafts.

I need names for two female Ravens. They are important characters in my Bone Whisperer series and they don't like being called Raven one and Raven 2 Or H1 & H2 since they ain't Odin's male pair. What would you call them?

New month and I've finally finished my WIP. Dragon's Heart is done. It's with my publishing coordinator so it should be out soon.

Progress How Novel 88

A little late with these posts this month. Yesterday we lay chad on our driveway so I was outside all day, except for mealtimes. We finished an hour before dark. I didn't feel like writing any thing yesterday evening so I watched a video after checking all my emails.

Now that the weather is getting nicer I'll be doing 'projects' with my Dad and most of the time not being indoors long until suppertime. Not all the time but usually at least once a week or other week. That's what I'm here for according to my parents, to help so they get what work they can from me. :)

Prime writing time has left the building as they say. Summer is not conducive to writing. No long nights but there is siesta time so I will get some writing done.

So 3 months into 2025 and it's chaos. Not locally yet, but it's only a matter of time. I don't know if we're going to make the next few months much less the year, definitely not the 4 years. I just don't know.

This last year seems to have gone by awfully fast. It's January already of 2025.

2024 was a year of firsts. In May I did my first in-person event at TTMP in Hardenville, MO. I did my first newsletter and did my first Book Funnel promo in October. I also put out bookmarks on my table for the first time. Bookmarks that I made that is. I'll probably keep doing that. My muse liked making them.

I plan to do book 3 of the EV companion series and book 2 of Bone Whisperer next so that gives a little more time to come up with the names. My T.L stories (Ghostwolf Books 1 & 2, the 2 Fallborn books, and the first Time-Lost book) are on Ingram Spark.. My Tina books will definitely stay on Amazon and in KU but I don't want to keep all my eggs in one basket incase AMZ terminates my account because of piracy. AMZ KDP accounts have been terminated because the book (s) were found on a pirate site. If that happens I don't want all my eggs to be broken. I don't know if I want to put the rest of the series' as I finish them on IS as I can't put them in KU if the ebook is in IS. I'm thinking about switching up a bit. We shall see.

Progress How Novel 82

October is here and Halloween will soon be upon us. There is something in us that likes the thrill of horror in movies and books, that jolt of fear and anticipation--As long as it is only in movies or books.

Halloween has always been my favorite holiday. We can let ourselves go. Let that creature inside us out for a bit. And the candy isn't bad either. :) As an adult I don't get to indulge as much any more, except in books and movies. There's no Halloween parties for adults here. That doesn't mean there aren't spectacular Halloween decorated houses around but no parties--unless it is for children. If I ever get a house, large enough to host, I'm going to have a Halloween party, even if no one else shows up, every year. For both adults and kids.

Time to Winterize my trailer and get things situated before the cold gets here. The cool mornings are nice change from the Summer heat and humidity. But Winter in the Ozarks is not very nice at all. The old adage about waiting 5 minutes if you don't like the weather is very true here. Morning can start out nice but by afternoon you can have harsh conditions. The opposite can happen but rarely. Usually if the day starts harsh it stays harsh, sun shining or not. However we don't get the snow fall that the Northern states get which I'm happy about. I'm hoping for a mild Winter this year. While I like the time indoors to get writing done I do get cabin fever. Winter is not the best time to go for a spontaneous walk.

The third Friday and Saturday of this month is Hootin an Hollarin, a local craft festival here in Gainesville, MO. I'll have a table there with my books and other things my muse has been working on instead of writing.

I've been trying to finish Emergent, the Time-Lost book. But my muse is being her fickle self and working on a new vella more than Emergent. It's a rough first draft of a Romantasy/paranormal I did years ago. She just clumped to it and won't let it go. And she won't even edit it. She just adds a bit here and there when I upload an episode. I open Emergent and she ignores it. I'm behind and I need to get Emergent done but she blithely talks about the new Vella. :sigh:

I'm redoing some of my covers. The Ghostwolf books and Bone Whisperer are getting revamped. I've already changed BW and the second cover for GW is being worked on now. My covers were not up to Market I was told so I have set out to change them. We shall see if this helps.

It's been hot enough for blood to boil. And we got the rest of this month to go yet. September is usually cooler, at least lower humidity. We'll see this year.

I'm welcoming the month but not the heat. It's been hot enough for blood to boil. And we got the rest of this month and August to go yet. September is usually cooler, at least lower humidity. We'll see this year.

My Elemental Voice omnibus is out in paperback and hardback. It has the first three books in it. If you want to check out the hardcover Elements of a Shaman.

I'm still doing a contest for Book 5 of Elemental Voice Spirit Talker. I am looking for names of certain characters. The book is in the 'planning' stage, meaning I'm writing the book bible right now and thus doing character names and place names for the book. I need names for the Orro Clan matriarch, her PA, her security chief, and the secondary villain as well as a morally grey assassin. Most are vampires except for the secondary villain.

6 months into the year already. Another 6 months and this year will be gone.

Hopefully this summer will be fair but with the hot days we’ve been having between the rains that may just be a dream. Global Warming has sure messed with Earth’s weather a lot. But I guess we’re stuck with the consequences of our ‘Free Will’ decisions that others have made for all of us.

I'm working on the next book in the Time-Lost series, Emergent, on Vella as well as Book 2 of Bone Whisperer. 5 more chapters/episodes should see Emergent done. I'm trying to get it finished before Hootin an Hollarin in September.

I had planned to put my T.L. books on Vella as you can publish the Vella as a book once it is finished on KDP. However the Zon changed some of the rules for Vella in mid March. So I'm going to wait and see what happens in the next two months. I may have to make changes of my own.

Even after 10 months I'm still getting the hang of vella. But it seems like doing an ongoing one will net me more locked reads and better bonuses. So I have 3 stories that I'm going to make ongoing, only available on Vella. They really don't tell you the criteria for the bonus so I don't know what they look for to increase the bonus.

I've been looking for more in-person events near me but when you're in nowhere Missouri and most of the events are on the East & West coasts...Well it makes the travel prohibitive. However I have found one and went to the first one May 4th. I did alright as I sold 14 books. Not bad for a first time. But the event happens again in November and I will see how I do then.

As I've said many times my muse is fickle. She is still not wanting to work on Ghostwolf so I've set it aside for now. I'm working on the WIPs that are on Vella. Which include Book 2 of Bone Whisperer, a Time-Lost series book, and 2 Urban Fantasy.

March did not go out like a lion. But it did go by fast.

As I said this year I'm going to be concentrating on Kindle Vella.

I plan to put my T.L. books on Vella as you can publish the Vella as a book once it is finished on KDP. I think this is the best way to get at least my T.L. books out. My Tina Books I'll still be writing as well just slower I think since I won't be doing them on Vella. I have way more T.L. Books in my queue than Tina Books.

Bone Whisperer is pubbed and out. So now you can get it on Kindle Vella, vella Bone , or Kindle Unlimited. Or here for $2.99 , A Playground of Bones ,

February flew by. March is coming in mild, almost spring like. Which means may be when it ends it will go out like a lion, windy and cold. Isn't that the old saying?

Whatever the saying we've been doing outside yard work, cleaning up years of mess that we allowed to accumulate. Some will go on our yard sale and some to the recycle center but we're not in a rush as it's not Spring yet and it's not going anywhere on it's own. It's been there for years, what's a few more weeks?

As to my writing this year I'm going to be concentrating on Kindle Vella.

I'm still getting the hang of vella. But it seems like doing an ongoing one will net me more locked reads. So I'm going to try it. February hasn't started out as a happy month. My cat went over the rainbow bridge on the 2nd. I had her over 6 years and I miss her. The Ferals we feed are just not the same. I hope she is getting a lot of catnip treats.

This year I'm going to be concentrating on Kindle Vella.

That doesn't mean I won't be writing on my WIPs though. Since I'm doing Vella, I don't know how much I'll get done in my writing queue. I have soo many stories in my head. But next two books up: Book 3 of Ghostwolf and Book 5 of EV. But as I've said many times my muse is fickle. She may throw a whole new story at me or she may just stick to the vellas. It's the New Year!

I don't do resolutions as they don't seem to last out the month. But I do make short-term goals for my writing. This year I'm going to be concentrating on Kindle Vella.
