Hi hi! I just wanted to say that Reality Fracture has been my favorite set in my 14 years of playing Magic. I just got out of the prerelease and it was an absolute blast!

Would white getting a low power creature with flash and deathtouch until end of turn as a bend as that’s effectively “destroy target attacking creature”

White doesn’t get deathtouch, even as a bend.

Low power high toughness is more often white or blue.

Unable to attend a Prerelease event for Reality Fracture because every LGS in my area is only hosted it last night while I was working, save one, but that one is having the event while I’m busy with groceries. Does WotC have any say in when Events happen? Because it would have been nice to go to one.

Reality Fracture prerelease was excellent and it seems like a smash hit. It’s very unapologetically Magic, and I think that spoke to a lot of people who were long-term fans. Lots of sold out events and the set itself plays wonderfully. It’s certainly one of the most fun in sealed.

The Employee Prerelease was my favorite prerelease of the year. The set is super fun in limited.

That’s not really how things become evergreen. It’s not a discussion. We get a new mechanic. If we like it, we start using it again sooner.

If it’s doing really good things, we increase its usage. We think of that as being “deciduous”.

If it’s super useful and we find it going in most sets, that’s when we dub it “evergreen”.

Had a blast a Reality Fracture pre-release. Empower Jace is really fun Though I think I might have come away as my echoverse version

Because players fundamentally didn’t want them. When we stay on the same world, we always have a drop off for the following set.

If the first set was 100%, the second set was almost always 80% (adjusted for set size). And the third set was almost always 60% (again adjusted for size).

We also did market research, and the resounding answer we got is players prefer to move around and have sets be different from one another.

All our other data also followed this trend.

Just came home from prerelease, had an absolute blast. My favourite prerelease yet. Now, Undulating Witness was super fun in my deck, but it makes me wonder. How popular are these “big cycling commons” (idk if there is an official term for them) with the community? And since not every set has them, how do you decide if you should add some in any given set or not?

Hi mark! Went to the Reality Fracture Prelease yesterday! Went 1-1-1 and it was a good time! I built an Orzhov graveyard deck with Kwia Vigorbloom as my big finisher, who I got to cast, use to kill Emrakul (naturally cast! The game went that long, we cast 3 Memory Traps) with Diamondblade Teyo, and then recur with Liliana’s Exhaust, one of my favorite games in a while Reality fracture is so good! And the echoed pairs is such a fun idea and makes opening boosters way more exciting, rather than just the standard “oh what rare did I get” you get excited for stuff at uncommon to! What a smash hit of a set

My opponent in tonight’s prerelease, in gruul, had better creatures and too much life. But not so much better that he could start swinging. Well, Paradox Shaper repeatedly milled myself to nothing so I could get just like. One point of damage while saccing my whole board on attack for a lethal Fblthp trigger. So. That was cool

From the Lowyn Eclipsed Vision Design, you mentioned “At least one [REDACTED] version of a legendary character (Oona)”. Were there plans to include Echoverse legendaries in the set?

Early plans were to do a bunch more Echoverse characters in sets leading up to Reality Fracture.
