The Jökulsá á Fjöllum river below Selfoss waterfall in North East Iceland. The river spreads out as it reaches the upstream side of the waterfall then flows around and over the sides of an elongated 'U'. Despite the amount of water going over it, the waterfall is nowhere near as high as Dettifoss just downstream.

Selfoss marks the beginning of the Jökulsárgljúfur canyon, itself part of the Vatnajökull National Park, The river it contains rises around the Vatnajökull glacier, near the subglacial volcano of Bárdarbunga.

The day I took this photo - a dust storm was raging over the north east of the island.

Found this yesterday in the iPhone's ~10k pic archive... figured it could see the light of day - even if only as tiny jpg.

River Würm, Bavaria, low water level again due to lack of rain for months now. Lots of Elodea growing again

X-Pro3 and a new workflow: Raw developed with Fujifilm's X RAW STUDIO and Reggie's Portra film simulation. Adds a bit more warmth. It's only jpeg, but I like it :-)

While in the nearby art gallery today we saw a painting of Queen Square, where this photo was taken, by J.M.W. Turner. It's changed a bit since then.

The branches of a drowned tea tree groping for air from a glassy Lake Burbury in Tasmania's west. Hardly a cloud in the sky and this the day after my previous posting.

The lake was created C.1991 by the damming of the King and Princess Rivers for hydroelectric generation purposes. Previously the King fed Macquarie Harbour through Kelly Basin.

The lake is named for Sir Stanley Burbury, first Australian born (currency) Vice Regal - Governor of Tasmania.

As a cadet journalisté 'tog, I had the pleasure of manhandling Stan for a piffle pages photo around 1977. He was as pissed as a nit. I got a rap over the knuckles from the editor of the rag for 'touching the Queen's representative'. My story is that if I hadn't, he'd have fallen over.

It's a popular spot for anglers. There is a webcam on the opposite shore - out of shot - to the right.

Made a lot of pics here with three cameras - all quite similar but this one appealed.
