At F1.2 the Nokton gets very soft and flary. Not sharp at all, but a nice look that somehow adds depth to this riverscape.

I had bought a Voigtländer Nokton 50mm F1.2 before but returned it because it was quite hard to focus with my X-Pro1. Now with the X-Pro3 it's much easier to focus, so after the manual Ultron 27mm F2 I bought an Nokton 50mm F1.2 again, used, at a fair price. Beautiful lenses, these manual Voigtländers.

Taylors - Receding

Taylors Lagoon Beach, larapuna, Bay of Fires, Tasmania.

Have had a lot of success here at Taylors. Lots to like in the rocks and beach. Nearly always contre jour with white sand, aquamarine seas and usually good cloud to the north over the Gardens and Banks Strait further north.

From the archive - used a random date generator to plumb the depths.

Sony A7Rii, Zeiss Batis 18mm f/2.8, 15secs at f/16, ISO 64. Breakthrough Photography 10 stop ND filter.

Had a heap of rain and snow back in early May. Lucky enough to be near a stream the next morning to catch a nice flow over a little cascade.

Sadly no tripod or ND filters handy so this is small aperture, low ISO and a red filter from the Leica Q2M. Handheld.

Leica Q2M, Leica Summilux 28mm f/1.7, 1/4 sec at f/16, ISO 100. Hoya red filter.
