Let me start off by saying that Libra is by far the easiest sign of the entire zodiac to get along with! Every sign enjoys the company of a Libra. I honestly don’t think I have ever met a Libra who came across as difficult or stubborn.

Like a typical air sign, a Libra has their charms. You know how to play the field and work a room. You are not interested at all in living the lone, independent lifestyle. You are all about fusing and mingling with others, and starting relationships comes fairly easy to you.

You are an expert at balancing. Whether work, friends, other priorities, etc, you know how to manage it all without feeling drained or overwhelmed at the end of the day.

August 23 - September 22
Symbol - The Maiden
Role - The Mastermind
Element - Earth
Best Colors - Earthy pastels or muted tones, such as mint or olive green

If there was a zodiac sign that naturally knows how to strive for perfection, or have perfectionist ideals, it's the second earth sign in the zodiac, Virgo. If you are a Virgo, and are a business owner or a manager in some way, it's most likely that you run a tight ship, paying great attention to detail in your work and completing every task and responsibility with a considerable amount of order and organization.

No matter what your occupation is however, as a Virgo, it's most likely that tidiness and neatness runs through your veins. Has anyone ever told you that you probably have OCD when it comes to cleaning? Yeah, you’re definitely a Virgo.

This is just the tip of the iceberg for you Virgos though. To read more about your personality, check out my astrology for beginner's handbook, available on Amazon!

What's The Perfect Summer Activity For Your Zodiac Sign?

2021-06-06T12:12:00.001-05:00

Photo Courtesy of Hannah Morgan via Unsplash

Now that it's officially June, we all have summer on our minds, and rightfully so!

With this particular summer season having more back-to-normal vibes than last year, its time to think about all the fun, outdoor summertime pastimes that we can possibly accomplish for the next 2-3 months. To help narrow down your list, take a look at what is the most preferred summer activity according to your zodiac sign. Be sure to check out your Big 3! ( Your Sun Sign, Moon Sign, and Rising Sign.)

ARIES - Volunteer Work

As the initiator of the zodiac, getting out into the community and giving back is the ideal way to keep you busy, but also to enable you to lead by example, which is a natural position for you to be in!

TAURUS - Hiking or Camping

Whether you realize it or not, Taurus is the sign most associated with nature. So make sure to spend plenty of time outdoors and you might be surprised at how grounded you feel afterwards. Best suggestions are to plan a hiking trip at a national park or do a staycation of camping in your own backyard underneath the stars!

GEMINI - Volleyball

As one of the signs with energy to spare, sand volleyball is the prime activity for you to stay active while also socializing and making new friends!

CANCER - Ice Cream Social

Or really just anything involving ice cream period. You have a soft spot for all things "comforting" and what is more comforting in the summer heat than a snow cone, popsicle, or an ice cream cone?

LEO - Laying Out In The Sun

Us Leos like to be in the thick of things, or where all the action is at, so what better place to be at than at the beach or the local swimming pool doing our people watching while getting our tan on? Just be sure to not skip out on the SPF!

VIRGO - Picnicking

Believe it or not, you can put your organizational skills to good use AND still have fun at the same time! A picnic is the perfect opportunity for you, giving you complete control to plan what food and utensils to bring while also getting out and letting your hair down!

LIBRA - Happy Hour

As the social charmer of the zodiac, your oyster shell is wherever the coolest, trendiest hotspot in town for happy hour is! OR, if you have the space for it, you can be your own host/hostess with the most/mostest and invite your friends over to try your own mixology concoction!

SCORPIO - Movie Night

You don't need hyper activity to stay engaged, so a movie night at the theater or curled up at home on the couch is all that you need to stay preoccupied. Maybe even look up any outdoor movie theaters near you since those are making a comeback!

SAGITTARIUS - Live Music

As the zodiac explorer, you like to try new things and feel some straight up vibes, so what could be better for you than live music? With both large festivals and smaller venues opening their doors back up, your choices this summer should be plenty!

CAPRICORN - Meditation

You can sometimes be a workaholic, so you're probably the sign that's a little more reluctant to slow down and take a break. But remember that the need for rest is always crucial, so take at least 10 minutes each day or 30 minutes a week for some mindful mediation before you go back to building your empire!

AQUARIUS - Paddle Boarding

You like to be in situations where the sky itself is your only limit, so if skydiving sounds too risky, maybe take some time to learn how to paddle board. It's just you, the water, and the sky above. How relaxing is that?

PISCES - Watch the Sunset

Speaking of water, as the water sign of the zodiac with the biggest dreams, what could be dreamier than watching the sunset or sunrise in a vivid summer sky? Mother Nature has a way of putting things into perspective. Talk about tranquility!

Don't let this summer go to waste now, folks. Most of us have been cooped up for a lot longer than we would have liked, but now its time to kick off the summer season in the right way possible! Stay safe and stay active!

Until next time stargazers,

May's Full Moon - Flower Moon 2021

2021-05-26T16:40:00.002-05:00

Photo Courtesy of Joseph Bradshaw vis Unsplash

May's full moon for 2021 is called the Flower Moon, and since April showers bring May flowers, what could be more appropriate?

The Flower Moon signifies a couple of things: bringing your dreams to full bloom and also placing a significance on healing. Flowers are good for the soul after all.

Think of gardening and dreams as if they were the same: you first plant the seeds, give the seeds water and sun, and then watch the seeds bloom into beautiful, bright buds! Same thing for goals: you make a plan, you put those plans into motion, and before you know it, you're turning those dreams into reality!

Until next time stargazers. Keep looking up!

Gemini, the sign of communication, for communicating with others and expressing yourself comes very easily to you. Have you often found yourself as the designated “messenger” in between family, friends, or co-workers? This is no mere accident!

One of your strongest traits is how highly adaptable you are. You are not one to break under pressure. You use your natural cleverness and wit to manage any difficult situation that comes your way. You can almost be a little sneaky at times, too sneaky in fact, especially if you happen to piss off the wrong person.

What Body Part Does Your Zodiac Sign Rule?

2021-05-13T23:03:00.010-05:00

Photo Courtesy of Kaylee Garrett via Unsplash

Did you know that each zodiac sign has a corresponding part of the human body?

Honestly, I wasn't too aware either, but after doing a little bit of research and using the encyclopedia of all astrology - Joanna Martine Woolfolk's The Only Astrology Book You'll Ever Need - I found it rather intriguing to see what all the physical "trigger points" for each sign were!

This study was originally all based on ancient medical research. You know, back when both medicine and religion were spiritually aligned and long before the world divided itself over science vs religion. So yes, a very long time ago this information was used.

Obviously in the 21st century, medical practices are very much different now, but it still doesn't hurt to take a look at the list below and see what parts of your body that may be or not be more prone to injury or pain than other parts. And honestly, after I read mine, I now have several IcyHot patches on standby just to be safe...

ARIES - Mind Your Head!

If you're an Aries, you may be more prone to getting headaches. (Probably from all the strain you put on yourself to constantly go, go, GO!) You also might want to actually protect your face, because you're also maybe more likely to get head injuries in all forms, anything from concussions to black eyes! (Yikes!)

TAURUS - Pass the Throat Coat

For Taureans, the neck and throat is your area. So drink plenty of herbal tea because you may be more prone to sore throats, laryngitis, and good ol' mono.

GEMINI - Just Keep Breathin', and Breathin', and Breathin'

As the chatty kathy of the zodiac, it's a shame that you're the one more liable to get the wind knocked right out of you! Keep an eye on your lungs because you may be more susceptible to ailments such as bronchitis and pneumonia.

CANCER - Upset Stomach?

Cancerians are the indulgers of the zodiac, especially when it comes to food. So, don't be surprised if it's common for you to have digestive issues afterwards. (I know I've already mentioned tea in this article, but ginger tea seriously does wonders for the stomach!)

LEO - Back 2 Back

We Leo's can sometimes feel like we carry the weight of the world on our shoulders, and most of the time it is self-induced. Whether that is physical weight or emotional, Leo's do not have the strongest of backs. Like I said, IcyHot patches are a MUST!

VIRGO - ...But Did You Die?

Virgos are the first to go into nervous shock, probably from all of the stress that comes along with tying to perfectly clean the entire house, or over-analyzing a situation with all of its details. You. Are. Shook.

LIBRA - Sweet Cheeks

Don't neglect those glutes, now! Squats, lunges, whatever you need to do, that way when you do fall on your derriere (your best asset btw) from being too indecisive, you have a nice cushion to fall back on.

SCORPIO - The Birds and The Bees

No way to sugar coat this, but as the most private sign of the zodiac, it only makes sense that your sign rules the body's private parts. Use protection, all I'm gonna say.

SAGITTARIUS - Legs for Days

Most Sags like to work out or spend time in the great outdoors. All that walking and traveling can cause strain and tension in the legs, so be sure to stretch beforehand!

CAPRICORNS - When The Bones Are Good

It is said that Capricorns have enviable bone structure, but all that beauty may eventually one day lead to problems such as arthritis or broken bones. So don't skimp out on the calcium or vitamin D!

AQUARIUS - A Full Heart

Your life force is the circulatory system, including the veins and arteries. Keep your lifestyle active and moving, just like your mind, and the sky is your limit!

PISCES - You Gotta Cut Loose

Pisceans have musical, dancing feet! But that can also mean you're more prone to calluses, jammed toes, or even bunions. So wear shoes that match your artistic vibe, but are also extremely comfy.

Anyone resonate with the particular body part of your sign? Let me know in the comments!

As always, to read more about your particular sun sign, you can check out my beginner's guide to astrology available on Amazon! (And if you have already read it, please be so kind as to leave a review.)

April 2021 Full Moon - Pink Moon

2021-04-26T11:04:00.005-05:00

Photo Courtesy of Philip Myrtorp via Unsplash

April 2021's full moon happens to be based on my favorite color: the Pink Moon!

This moon was named after the wild pink phlox that is one of the earliest flowers to bloom in the spring, thus spreading the color of pink everywhere.

With this vision in mind, the Pink Moon reminds us to revel in the beauty of nature and the world around us. This is a time to spread joy and beauty, that can be anything from planting a garden of your own, to spreading acts of kindness to a complete stranger.

This is also another time to focus on reawakening of oneself.

If you'd like to catch a glimpse of the rest of the full moon schedule for 2021, you can read one of my previous articles here to get a brief breakdown. In the meantime, go spread some love around why don't you? Until next time,

Oh Taurus, you are sometimes a bit much for this Leo girl to handle, but you are in fact a very necessary sign for the zodiac.

You are a stabilizer. Just like Aries is the most fiery of the three fire signs, you are the most grounded and the most earth-driven of the three earth signs. Headstrong and not at all afraid to get your hands dirty and work hard, you quickly earn a good name for yourself by showing your dependability and practicality.

How To De-Stress For Each Zodiac Sign

2021-04-10T16:53:00.006-05:00

Photo Courtesy of Kid Circus via Unsplash

So let's face it: we all get angry at some point.

We all get frustrated, sensitive, insecure, disappointed, ashamed, whatever else, and yes, that includes those of us who follow astrology as well.

Hey, we're all humans here, and no matter what type of personality you have, or what you believe or don't believe in, we are all going to run into having bad days.

That said, we all have our own methods as to how we deal with those bad days and what makes us feel better afterwards. But even though you can never really go wrong with a good binge watch session on Netflix or Hulu, how many of us actually feel inspired or recharged after watching TV for several hours straight?

(In my experience, I actually feel more tired and lethargic afterwards than I did before I even reached for the remote.)

So for those of you who are interested in switching things up a little bit, I made a handy dandy chart below, based on the zodiac signs, to help you get ideas on other ways you can de-stress, boost your mood, and kind of just forget about whatever ruined your day in the first place.

Look at your Big 3 for the best ideas for you! (Your Sun Sign, Moon Sign, and Rising Sign).

ARIES - With all the energy you have, its best you get some exercise! Choose whatever works for you and your body, but some good ideas are kickboxing, running, or any other form of cardio.

TAURUS - All true Taureans likes to work hard, then sleep hard. Seriously, what works best for you is a stress-free, undisturbed nap.

GEMINI - As the communicators of the zodiac, Gemini's love to talk it out. So phoning a friend, (or face-timing), is going to work wonders for you.

CANCER - Cancer's like to withdraw when all is not well, but you also like simple comforts. So what could be more comforting than a relaxing bubble bath?

LEO - Considered the performers or the entertainers of the zodiac, a little music or dancing never harmed a Leo! Plug in your air pods and pretend you're a pop star!

VIRGO - Now, most of us would not consider these things "relaxing" per say, but since Virgo's are organized to the extreme, whipping up something in the kitchen or tidying up that closet you've been putting off for ages is going to be what the doctor prescribed for a Virgo.

LIBRA - Libra's like things that are "aesthetically pleasing" and that includes yourselves most times. So some self care is exactly what's called for here. Think face masks, painting your nails, or even just a fresh haircut will make all the difference.

SCORPIO - Brooding Scorpio also likes to withdraw, but you need to be a little more extra than Cancer. So when I say unplug, I really mean unplug. Put that phone on Do Not Disturb, pretend you don't have social media, and have a good session of solitude with just Y-O-U.

SAGITTARIUS - You can get more restless than the other signs can, so what will be best for you is to teach yourself something! Watch a historical documentary, listen to a podcast, or take an online course for something you've always found interesting. Basically, keep that brain of yours busy!

CAPRICORN - Capricorn's also love to think, but the best way for you to expand your knowledge is to read. Whether that's a book on how to be a leader, or the latest crime-thriller novel, getting cozy with a book is right up your alley.

AQUARIUS - As the visionaries of the zodiac, Aquarians have active imaginations. Those thoughts of yours have to go somewhere, and there's no better place to jot down those thoughts than in a journal.

PISCES - Creativity cures a Pisces, so this is where arts and crafts comes in handy! That could be anything from drawing simple sketches, to knitting a scarf, or to designing and sewing together a dress!

Didn't realize there were so many options out there, did you? You can all thank me later :)

The History of the Zodiac: The Myth Behind Each Sign

2021-04-05T20:23:00.002-05:00

Photo Courtesy of Nastya Dulhiier via Unsplash

"History became legend, legend became myth..." (Bonus points if you know what movie that comes from).

Basically, everything that is part of this world, including the myths and tales we heard when we were young, all came from somewhere.

From every myth, rumor, or story out there, there is always at least a fragment of truth behind it. (I mean, how else do celerity gossip columns get by?)

So, in order to know where the world or the universe is heading towards in the long run, we need to look back and understand where the world and universe came from. And in terms of the zodiac, that means we need to take a look into the origins of each of the twelve zodiac signs.

You can still see them all today if you just take a look up at the night sky on a clear night. Your science teacher probably called them constellations.

First Off, What Does The Word Zodiac Signify?

Like I just mentioned, there are twelve different astrological signs, just like there are twelve months in a year. Each sign is in the form of a various animal or figure, and this is because when the stars were first studied centuries ago, astrologers believed the constellations they saw were all intricately lined up in the shapes of animals.

Thus, we got the word zodiac, which stems from the Greek word zodiakos, meaning “circle of animals”.

Here is a quick list of the 12 zodiac signs, as well as the myths and legends behind how each one of them became constellations in the first place. (If you low-key have an interest in Greek mythology like I do, you should enjoy this.)

The Twelve Tales

ARIES: The symbol for Aries is the ram, which stems from the infatuation the god of mischief, Hermes, had for a nymph named Nephele. He gifted her with a golden ram whose fleece was magical, and the ram ended up saving the lives of Nephele's two children from their wicked stepmother, Ino.

TAURUS: The god of all gods, Zeus, fell in love with a mortal princess named Europa. (The continent of Europe is named after her.) He transformed himself into a magnificent white bull in order to run off with her, hence why Taurus's symbol is the bull.

GEMINI: Twin boys, Castor and Pollux, who were inseparable, were tragically torn apart when Castor was killed in battle. Pollux sacrificed his life in order to bring his twin back, and Zeus decided to send them both into the stars as a way to honor them. The symbol of Gemini then? The twins, of course.

CANCER: The hero Hercules battled many creatures, and one of them was the giant water crab sent by the vengeful Hera. Hercules won the battle, but it was the crab who Hera placed in the night sky to be remembered forever.

LEO: Another vicious animal Hercules battled against was the undefeated Nemean lion. Once again, Hercules won, (there's not very many stories where he lost) but the strength of the lion was so intense, that the gods still found a way to honor its courageous spirit.

VIRGO: There's no doubt that the symbol of Virgo is the maiden. Scholars have argued who the maiden actually is though, so because of that, I have chosen my favorite tale: Astraea, the goddess of innocence and purity. Rumor has it that when the next Golden Age takes place for us mortals here on Earth, she will come back down from the heavens to live with us in peace.

LIBRA: Oh, the scales. Here we have Themis who was Astraea's mother. She was the goddess of justice, fairness, and equality. She too will grace us with her presence when the second Golden Age of mankind is upon us.

SCORPIO: We can thank the moon goddess, Artemis, for giving us this one. Artemis hated the giant named Orion, for he was probably a little too cocky about himself. But instead of just teaching him a simple lesson, Artemis ordered the poisonous Scorpion to paralyze Orion to death. It must've been an epic battle though, because in the end, Zeus decided to place BOTH the scorpion and the giant in the sky. You can still seem them chasing one another up in the stars to this day.

SAGITTARIUS: The wise centaur Chiron, who was half man and half horse, unfortunately had a very slow and painful death. Freakin' Hercules accidentally shot the centaur with an arrow, but since Chiron was technically immortal, he couldn't just die and be put out of his misery immediately. This is why Sagittarius is represented by both a centaur and an arrow.

CAPRICORN: The symbol of Capricorn is the sea-goat, and legends say that this was modeled after Pan, the god of fields, meadows, and forests. Not sure exactly what he did to deserve becoming a constellation, but most images show him playing a musical instrument...so, there's that!

AQUARIUS: Remember Pandora? You know, the woman who opened the box she was told not to? Well, after she let out all the evil and darkness into the world, Zeus decided to hit the reset button on mankind and start over creating them. So he ordered the water bearer to flood the entire earth and wash out what he considered filth.

PISCES: Aphrodite and her son Eros, (or Cupid as most of the world knows him), were rescued from a sea monster by the bravery of two fish. Athena this time stepped in and honored the two sea creatures by turning them into stars.

These tales are all just the abbreviated versions of each myth. To read more, you need to check out my debut book on Amazon, which will also give you detailed explanations on the personality traits of each zodiac sign! If you want a good place to start reading more about astrology, this is a good place as any to start.

March 2021 Full Moon - Worm Moon

2021-03-28T11:08:00.000-05:00

Photo Courtesy of Reaksmey via Unsplash

As always, every month there is a full moon, and March's full moon is called the Worm Moon.

I know I know, its not the most aesthetically pleasing of animals to choose from, but the Native Americans specifically chose the worm because earthworms wiggling up from the ground has always signified the start of spring, hence why the earthworm became the spiritual symbol.

So what does the Worm Moon signify for us? Well, to tie in with springtime, March's full moon means it's time to hit the reset button. Think about the "freshness" of new beginnings. Think about "planting the seeds" of what you want to accomplish for this year.

Basically, this is the time to focus on rebirth and renewal.

If you'd like to catch a glimpse of the rest of the full moon schedule for 2021, you can read one of my previous articles to get a brief breakdown. In the meantime, don't let this season of creating new beginnings go to waste! Until next time,

This weekend, the zodiac wheel will have spun full circle and we now find ourselves back to the very first zodiac in line, Aries!

It is no coincidence that Aries is the first sign in the zodiac, for pioneer, trailblazer, and champion are all terms that are used to describe them. They leave a blazing trail of glory burning brightly behind them for the rest of the zodiac signs to follow!

There is quite a lot of firepower inside an Aries, for they are the most fiery and passionate of the three fire signs! (The other two being Leo and Sagittarius).

To learn more about Aries or any of the other eleven signs of the zodiac, you can check them all out in my beginner's guide to astrology called WHAT'S IN A SIGN? available on Amazon!

Rising Signs of Astrology: What Are They and What Do They Mean?

2021-03-02T00:01:00.005-06:00

Photo Courtesy of Constant Loubier via Unsplash

So, rising signs... If you are new to astrology, you've probably heard this term come up quite a bit and have thought, "huh?".

Chances are, you came into astrology thinking there was only one sign you needed to understand, and that would be your sun sign, aka the sign your day of birth falls under.

Right AND wrong.

Not to overwhelm or shatter your thoughts, but every person born on the planet Earth actually has at least 10 signs that make up your entire birth chart (!!!). But we'll dive into all that at a later date, baby steps here!

If it's any consolation, rising signs end up playing a huge role in most people's personas, to the point where astrology beginners are often grateful/relieved they discovered theirs!

For me personally, discovering my rising sign was a blessing. It was like a lightbulb finally clicked on! It was the piece of the puzzle that had been missing and had suddenly filled the spaces left open by my sun and moon sign.

(Don't get me wrong, I vibe strongly with my sun and moon, but it is my rising sign that usually carries a much stronger presence in my daily interactions with others.)

So if you've read up on your sun sign and feel that it did not describe you 100%, then it's time to take a look at your rising sign!

What Is A Rising Sign?

First off, another term for rising sign is your ascendant. Depending on what astrologer you're listening to, some will say "rising" and others will say "ascendant". There's no right or wrong here, personal preference!

Technically, your rising sign is the zodiac sign that was rising on the eastern horizon at the time of your birth.

Make sense now?

The best way to figure out yours is by using an online astrology calculator. Keep in mind, you will need your exact birth time and location in order for complete accuracy. If you're not sure on the time, get as close to the right minute as you possibly can, and if you really don't know, then use noon - 12PM. (But that should be your last resort).

OK, I Got My Rising Sign. Now What?

Below are general traits or characteristics for each of the twelve zodiac signs. These traits apply to both sun and rising. Find yours and then I'll explain further and use a couple of examples.

Aries - energetic, impatient, direct, strong-willed

Taurus - stable, determined, stubborn, hardworking

Gemini - clever, witty, communicative, non-committal

Cancer - intuitive, perceptive, needy, enigmatic

Leo - confident, noble, loyal, smug

Virgo - organized, analytical, demanding, over-critical

Libra - sociable, sincere, fair, indecisive

Scorpio - complex, tenacious, passionate, jealous

Sagittarius - optimistic, adventurous, restless, careless

Capricorn - ambitious, responsible, skeptical, rigid

Aquarius - innovative, rebellious, idealistic, detached

Pisces - compassionate, kind, gullible, over-sensitive

So, easiest way to describe the role of your rising sign is that it is basically the mask you wear when you are either not ready to reveal the real you, or something is preventing you from being your true self = your sun sign.

Your rising sign is the first impression others get from you, especially if they are meeting you for the first time and know nothing about you.

Example: my sun is Leo, which means at my best I am warm, confident, and extremely loyal to my inner circle. But 8 out of 10 times, I usually display my rising sign, which is Capricorn. Which means to those who don't know me well, I come off as ambitious, but very reserved and stern.

Another example: let's say your sun sign is Virgo but your rising is Aquarius. That means you probably come off to others as idealistic and innovative, but can seem a little rebellious and detached (Aquarius). But the real you is extremely organized, reliable, and possibly over-critical of others, (Virgo).

See how I did this? I promise it's simple, just use the list of adjectives above!

So I think I've stressed enough how important understanding your rising sign is. For some, it's the missing piece of the puzzle, and for others. it's a pain in the rear. But whichever way you feel about your rising, I guarantee it will explain A LOT about the different parts of you in regards to your personality.

Full Moons of 2021 and What They All Signify

2021-02-27T19:02:00.002-06:00

Photo Courtesy of Denny Muller via Unsplash

Regardless of how close you follow astrology, the cosmos, or anything of that nature, I'm sure you're bound to hear, either on social media or in the news during the weather segment, whenever there is a full moon taking place.

Every year, there are 12 full moons total that you can see on certain days, once a month, from pretty much any place on the planet, no matter where you reside.

Full moons are symbolic to many different cultures around the globe, including the Native American tribes from North America.

Now, their definitions of each full moon is different than the definitions that astrologers go by. Example: according to astrologers, February 27th, 2021's full moon is going into Virgo. But according to the classic Farmer's Almanac, the February full moon is actually called the Snow Moon.

So which one should you go by?

Answer: completely up to you! You could even research the spiritual meanings of both and apply them both to your everyday life!

But since my writing is specifically focused for astrology beginners, I've found its best to not overwhelm, which is why for the time being we're just going to focus on the more traditional meanings of each full moon, thanks to the information you can find in your handy Farmer's Almanac. So here we go!

The Full Moons of 2021 and What They All Mean

You're probably thinking: "12 full moons...that's a lot to keep track of."

But honestly if you think about it, that evens out to only one full moon a month, which means each month we all get a different "theme" per se to focus on. And after you take a look at the following list, I think you'll agree that's a pretty manageable amount that will keep all our rhythm and energies flowing!

Wolf Moon - January 28th - This is the period to hone in on your instincts and intuition, the same way a wolf does in the wild to survive the long winter months.
Snow Moon - February 27th - Endurance and cleansing. Congrats, you've made it through hibernation season! Now that you're out on the other side (endurance), it's time to prepare and make way for the rest of the year (cleansing)! Cleanse your mind, do some physical self care, and clear out your space by removing any clutter, aka spring cleaning!
Worm Moon - March 28th - Now that it's getting warmer, earthworms are popping back up onto the surface of the ground. Thus time for the robins - the bird of spring - to reappear! Focus on renewal, rebirth, and any new beginnings you have going on in your life.
Pink Moon - April 26th - Probably my personal favorite, mainly because pink is my favorite color! With all the spring (usually pink) blossoms that are now out and about, this is the time to revel in the beauty and joy of the world around us. The earth is truly reawakening now.
Flower Moon - May 26th - More flowers everywhere! This is the time to think about healing and bringing dreams to fruition. Just like when you plant seeds in your outdoor garden, same goes for planting the seeds for your future. Oh, and if fertility is on your mind, then yes, now is the time to get busy!
Strawberry Moon - June 24th - Fun fact: in Europe, they call this the Rose Moon. But for many Native American tribes, this was the season for picking strawberries while they were ripe. So basically, use this transition period to get ready for the summer, the season where we usually feel our most "ripe"!
Buck Moon - July 23rd - The season where new bucks finally grow out their antlers, which means the focus of this period is all in our head. Think of grounding your mind and centering your senses.
Sturgeon Moon - August 22nd - The sturgeon fish of the Great Lakes are now more easily caught during this time. All this activity from the spring and summer months means now we need to make sure we are putting a focus on balance and creating harmony.
Harvest Moon - September 20th - Yep, you guessed it! It's now time to harvest, collect, and reap the rewards of the seeds you planted back during the Flower Moon!
Hunter's Moon - October 20th - This was prime hunting season for many Native American tribes, so this is the time to pursue and capture any remaining dreams or goals you had planned for this year. No more planning though, go after what you want for real this time!
Beaver Moon - November 19th - Tribes would now set beaver traps in order to have furs to wear for the upcoming winter. Before we fully go back into cold weather mode however, this is the period that strongly emphasizes giving and sharing, just in time for Thanksgiving!
Cold Moon - December 18th - And just like that, we're almost back right to where we started! A whole year has now passed, so this is the time to sit back and have some good self-reflection. Contemplate your past, present, and future with peace and stillness in your heart.

Because I couldn't find a full moon map for 2021 that was either accurate or appealing on either Google or Pinterest, I went ahead and created one. Feel free to save or share if you find it helpful. You're welcome.

Age of Aquarius: What Is It and What Does It Mean?

2021-02-04T14:03:00.001-06:00

I'm sure most of you may have heard by now, (or may not), that we are currently in the Age of Aquarius.

Even though this is not a topic I covered in my published beginner's guide to astrology - WHAT'S IN A SIGN? - this has definitely been a topic that has always intrigued me, and also something that most eager zodiac followers don't know too much about!

So while it is currently Aquarius season as I write this post, I thought now would be an appropriate time as any to dive into a few details surrounding the Age of Aquarius and what that means for the world.

Note: most of this information has been taken and inspired from Joanna Martine Woolfolk's The Only Astrology Book You'll Ever Need, (besides mine of course!)

What Does an "Age" Mean in Astrology?

First off, let's not confuse the terms age and season. The Age of Aquarius and Aquarius season are two different things!

Season is a yearly event that follows the sun's movement, while age is based off of the equinoxes.

About every 2100 or so years, the equinoxes will move through just one zodiac constellation. So back at the start of our century, around the year 2000, the vernal equinox moved into the constellation of Aquarius, which is how we got to where we are today.

So, basically, the Age of Aquarius will last from 2000 A.D. - 4000 A.D.

What Does Age of Aquarius Mean Then?

Each "age" will present trademarks that are tied to that particular zodiac sign.

So what do we know about the sign of Aquarius? Well, Aquarians are the visionaries and the humanitarians of the zodiac.

They stand for innovation, ideals, and progress, which means this current age will bring to the forefront the many, many issues that our world is currently facing. (Global warming, over-population, racial discrimination, animal species extinction, and volatile countries wielding destructive atomic power, just to name a few).

(Oh, and if none of those above issues sound concerning to you, I very kindly suggest you do some research and expand your awareness).

Aquarius is the seeker of truth, as well as the pursuer of a better world and future. They are also do-ers, not the ones to sit on their hands, which means THIS is the age where mankind will be put to the ultimate test to see if we can put our skills and technology to good use by progressively moving forward in order to reverse the damage we have inflicted on ourselves and our entire planet.

There is some good news, however...

Aquarius is also the sign of hope.

Meaning this is also the age where hope, desire, and belief will triumph if we all learn to accept and take action against the error of our ways.

Another Fun Fact About the Age of Aquarius

Last thing I will say, which I definitely think the zodiac lovers will rejoice in, the Age of Aquarius will also bring to the forefront astrology itself!

Aquarius is the sign that represents astrology.

The 12 figures of the zodiac will no longer be symbols that are ridiculed or overlooked. All superstition will be thrown out the window!

The new influencers of this age will be astrologers and mystics, so we will all eventually be saying goodbye to the likes of the Kardashians and TikTok dancers.

Remember, regardless of how dismal the state of things are around the world right now, there is always the power of hope, and what we all do with that hope could very well be the making of us all.

Moon Signs of Astrology: What Exactly Is a Moon Sign?

2021-01-28T11:49:00.003-06:00

Photo Courtesy of Jeffrey Eisen via Unsplash

So we all know we have a sun sign, aka your main sign: the zodiac sign the sun was traveling through during the day and time of your birth.

But did you know that every person also has a moon sign? Yes, as in what zodiac sign the moon was orbiting through during the exact time of your birth.

More times than not, your moon sign will be different than what your sun sign is. Example: my sun sign is Leo, but my moon sign is Aries.

But what does a moon sign even mean? Let me break it down nice and easy for you all!

What Does A Moon Sign Signify?

We've all heard the phrase "the dark side of the moon", and in some ways, the dark side is where your moon sign comes into play.

Except, I wouldn't necessarily always call your moon sign "dark". Your moon sign technically represents your internal side. Your feelings, your matters of the heart. The side of you that you probably keep more private and don't easily show on the surface as much as your sun sign.

In short, while your sun sign controls your identity, your moon sign controls your instincts.

How Do I Figure Out My Moon Sign?

Simple. The internet will come in handy here. Google "moon sign calculator" or "what is my moon sign". My usual go-to is AstroStyle's made by the AstroTwins.

Keep in mind, you will need to know the exact location of your birth (as in the location of the hospital you were born in), as well as the exact time, or your results will not be as accurate.

Once you figure out your moon sign, you're probably thinking, "Ok, what now?"

Again, simple. Take the personality traits of an Aries sun, but apply them now towards your feelings and internal instincts.

Example: I am a Leo sun, which means as a whole I am confident, warm, and loyal. But with my Aries moon added in now, that means my feelings can sometimes be direct, impulsive, and at times, a little hot-headed. (whoops!)

See how easy that was?

Water Signs of Astrology: What Are They and What Do They Mean?

2021-01-24T11:38:00.002-06:00

The fourth and final element of the zodiac is the serene, yet at times tumultuous, power of water.

Water signs do carry a stigma within the zodiac, for they are known to be the most emotional element of all. But don't rush to conclusions just yet, all elements of the zodiac are emotional in one way or another, it all just depends on how each sign handles it! And water signs just seem to carry more emotions at once...

What Does A Water Sign Signify?

Water signs represent emotion, intuition, and kindness.

They are the dreamers, the nurturers, and the mystics of the zodiac.

They are the kindred spirits who understand anything and everything about feelings, whether their own, or the feelings of others.

What Are The Three Water Signs?

The three water signs of the zodiac are Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. To break these three down more individually:

Cancer: You are most intuitive of the zodiac, for you have the rare ability of clairvoyance. Your human perception abilities are finely tuned, for you can tell much more about a person or a situation than what is revealed just on the surface.

Scorpio: The most misunderstood sign of the zodiac hands down. You can come off as brooding with a hard shell, but underneath all that you are deep and tenacious. You You are extremely passionate, therefore, you have the most magnetism to draw others to you!

Pisces: Hey there, dreamer! You are the romantic and the most sensitive of the zodiac signs. But your greatest trait? Your compassion. Your heart and your giving soul has no limits, and you're the first to put others needs before your own. (Be sure you don't completely forget about yourself though!)

As mentioned earlier, water signs are the most emotional because they end up carrying the most weight: the emotions of themselves as well as everyone's emotions they care about. Without water signs, the world would definitely be less beautiful, as well as less generous.

Well, we've officially wrapped up all four elements of the zodiac now! If you missed any of the previous posts, you can read here about fire, here about air, and here about earth.

These posts are all just the tip of the iceberg though when it comes to the twelve signs of the zodiac. To learn even more, check out What's In A Sign?, my newly released introduction to astrology, specifically for beginners!

Earth Signs of Astrology: What Are They and What Do They Mean?

The third out of the four elements of the zodiac we will discover today is the resilient and stable power of Mother Earth.

Earth signs hold an incredible amount of power within the zodiac. Don't get me wrong, all four elements of the zodiac (air, earth, fire, and water) are equally powerful in their own right, but there is something very resolute about earth signs.

What Does An Earth Sign Signify?

Earth signs represent order, dependability, and stability.

They are the protectors, the CEO's, and the masterminds of the zodiac.

They are the rocks, the unmoving pillars, to cling to in the middle of a turbulent storm.

What Are The Three Earth Signs?

The three earth signs of the zodiac wheel are Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn. To break these three signs down a little further:

Taurus: You are determined, you are headstrong. You take on the role of the guardian and take full ownership of whatever means the most to you personally, whether it's your family or your own small business.

Virgo: You are composed, you are efficient. You take on the role of the organizer, the analyzer, and you know how to examine every person and every situation with great detail and a fine tooth comb.

Capricorn: You are focused, you are ambitious. If anyone can build and run an entire empire completely on your own, it's you. No mountain is too high or ocean too vast for you to climb, cross, and conquer.

All earth signs can come off as reserved, and at times, stubborn. But the intense mental and physical energy the three of them possess quickly garners respect, and eventually, admiration.

Air Signs of Astrology: What Are They and What Do They Mean?

Continuing on our journey of exploring the four elements of the zodiac, today we'll cover the three whimsical and delightful air signs!

What Does An Air Sign Signify?

As mentioned in my previous post, there are specific traits within each element that unites all three of them together.

For the air signs in particular, intellect, independence, and freedom are the major traits or symbols that resonate profoundly within all three of them.

Air signs are the free-spirits of the zodiac. They value their originality and their individual status in life and in society.

Air Signs are the wanderers, the peacemakers, and the visionaries.

What Are The Three Air Signs?

The three air signs out of the twelve signs total are Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius.

The personalities and the characteristics of each of these three signs breaks down even further.

Gemini: the most clever, the most witty, the most adaptable, as well as the most two-faced. (Hey, your symbol is the twins after all!) You use your gift of wearing two faces to your advantage, thus helping you adapt to almost any given situation.

Libra: the most intelligent, the most reasonable, and the most fair, (both in decision making and usually in the looks department as well). You are usually chosen as a mediator, for you have the ability to be diplomatic in terms of conflict and problems that may arise.

Aquarius: the most independent, the most freedom-loving, as well as the most rebellious. You are the humanitarian in the group, taking swift action to make sure all your visions for your future and for others come true.

At their best, air signs are quite literally a breath of fresh air when they step into a room, bringing their sparkling energy and lighthearted humor wherever they go.

Fire Signs of Astrology: What Are They and What Do They Mean?

If you came to read a quick, breezy article in regards to astrology, you've come to the right place!

Especially for astrology and star sign beginners, one of the good basics to understand before you dive further into the subject, (and one of the more fascinating tidbits in my opinion), is to know the four elements of the zodiac wheel.

The twelve signs of the zodiac are classified into four distinct groups, each assigned to one of the four elements of nature: Air, Earth, Fire, and Water.

Each element group displays certain traits and characteristics that sets them apart from the others. Today we will briefly cover the most blazing of the four - fire!

What Does a Fire Sign Signify?

First, a fire sign signifies many things, but the most common traits to unite them all are energy, boldness, and restlessness.

A fire sign is more likely than others to run towards danger, to take on risks, and to be completely direct when speaking their mind. Fire signs are the most brave, as well as the most impulsive.

In short, fire signs are the trailblazers, the warriors, and the explorers of the zodiac.

What Are The Three Fire Signs?

The three fire signs of the zodiac are: Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius.

Each of these three signs are even further unique individuals on their own. Short summary:

Aries: the most ambitious, the most aggressive, and the most fiery of the fire signs. You can handle confrontation just fine, but you may also be known to be extremely temperamental.

Leo: warm-heat. Instead of a sweltering fire, think of the glorious rays of the sun, providing light and enjoyable warmth. The most noble, the most loyal, and the most proud.

Sagittarius: the "cool" fire sign. The one others like the most hands down. The most adventurous and the most optimistic.

To sum it up, fire signs are the leaders in the zodiac that keep the world turning. Without them, new heights would never be reached and great champions would never be made.

To learn even more bright and brilliant facts about fire signs, the elements, or any of the twelve zodiac signs in general, check out my book titled WHAT'S IN A SIGN?, now available on Amazon in both e-reader and paperback format! It's cute, it's affordable and it's easy to read, especially for those who do NOT want to become overwhelmed when reading about astrology.

An Excerpt From My Debut Book

2020-12-12T15:06:00.004-06:00

Photo Courtesy of Green Chameleon via Unsplash

Well ladies and gents, I did it. After spending the majority of 2020 brainstorming different writing ideas, exploring multiple avenues in regards to creative writing projects, I finally have my first finished book!

Not only is the work finished, it is edited (if not quadruple edited), formatted, cover designed, and as of a few weeks ago, officially published on Amazon! Now, self-publishing was an area I thought I would never have much interest in, but with the current economic climate the way it is and the traditional publishing industry taking a hit, I realized self-publishing was the best way to go.

And I am so glad, and grateful, that I took that big leap.

My debut published piece is novella sized, but nonfiction. It is called WHAT'S IN A SIGN? The Short and Sweet Beginner's Guide to Understanding Your Zodiac Sign.

Now I know what you're all thinking: astrology, huh?

The thing with astrology is, you either get it or you don't. There's no gray area or middle ground. And that's completely understandable. Which is why I specifically wrote this book with both sides in mind. This book is exactly what is sounds: a short and sweet beginner's guide to astrology.

Whether the subject of astrology intrigues you but you don't know where to start, or you don't consider yourself interested but know someone who is, this is the perfect dose of light reading for you, or for you to suggest to someone who is interested in astrology to read.

To further explain my motives when writing this book, I've included a brief snippet of the preface of WHAT'S IN A SIGN?

So read on, and if you find yourself further curious in what the stars have to say about you, click here to purchase your copy directly from Amazon! (digital or paperback).

WHY DID I WRITE THIS BOOK?

First things first, I am a realist. I follow my gut, but I make sure to take my head with me. I love the idea of happy endings, but I have the common sense to know that real life is nothing at all like a Hallmark movie. I have dreams and wishes that I intend to make come true, but I understand that first I must do what I have to do, in order to one day do what it is I want to do.
In short, I prefer not to keep my head stuck in the clouds for too long.
So then why did I write a short and sweet book about astrology, a compelling and curious theory that very much involves the sky, the clouds, and the stars above?
Well, short answer: the sky is where I found myself.
Chances are, if you stumbled upon this book and are now taking the much appreciated time to read it, I would be willing to bet there’s a part of you that’s searching for the same thing: yourself.
I mean, think about it: we’ve all taken the Myers-Briggs personality assessment, we’ve all categorized ourselves as either Type A or Type B, we’ve done the Enneagram tests, Buzzfeed personality quizzes, etc. And why? Because we as humans, all have a natural curiosity to learn more about ourselves.
And that’s wonderful! What else could be better to invest your time in than into learning about Y-O-U?
Self-discovery is a necessary and a vital part of every human’s life...
