The audio is a bit dicey and this was the first time I recorded via Skype.  It’s not horrible, but there are a few noticeable  points where Skype cut out.  I left them as they were, as it would have been a royal pain to do even more editing for only a second or two of inconvenience.

Reason #1: This is a LONG episode. We clock in at over 82 minutes. We didn’t plan on it going long, but we were on a good trip and we followed it through. Amazingly enough, we didn’t even get tangential… much.

Reason #2: I think I’ve finally figured out the damned encoding issues. One of the things we did when we started with FarPoint Media is to standardize our ID3 tags. This also meant that we’d include info in the comment tag about being part of the FarPoint Media family. What I didn’t realize is that ID3 tags and return keys don’t play nice. It would work fine on my local system, but as soon as it got uploaded to libsyn and pulled back down the tags would be slightly different and this would cause problems. I’ve fixed that issue, and this one, at least to my ears, seems to be working. If you have any issues, please let me know ASAP. I’ll be at the con most of the weekend, and may or may not have a few minutes to try some more things to get it working again.

We share our experience of seeing Rocky Balboa on opening night.

Friend of the Fanboy Smackdown, premier podiobook author, and all around pimp, Tee Morris is just about to release his next podcast audiobook (podiobook) ‘Billibub Baddings and The Case of The Singing Sword’.

He has given us permission to release this first chapter to you guys. This is a full month before the official release of the podcast on February 14th, 2007. I’ve given this a listen and can say that I’m excited to hear the rest of what Tee has in store for the dwarf detective.

Yeah, you read that right. This is a book that erases the lines of genre and sets up some fun characters to tell, what looks to be, a fun story. Not only is the story shaping up nicely, but Tee has enlisted a Who’s Who list of podcasting talent to round out the cast… though oddly I didn’t notice anyone named Tony in that list… He has also hooked up with some incredible musicians. This podcast novel is shaping up to be an audio feast.

Take a listen, let us know what you think here and let Tee know what you think as well. And if you happen to think of it, let him know where you heard about Billi. If we get some good response, maybe we can even get Tee to come on and chat about some movies and the book for us on the show!

Josh sends us his thoughts on our analysis of Star Wars� in Episode 1.
Steve, from the Cinesnob Telepod podcast, drops us a note after Episode 2 giving us the hint to watch Alexander Nevsky. We take a few minutes to discuss the relation between this Russian Propaganda Film and the film that set the standard for Space Opera.
