1)     Do not reveal personal information inadvertently

2)     Turn on cookie notices in your Web browser, and/or use cookie management software or infomediaries.

3)     Keep a "clean" e-mail address.

4)     Don't reveal personal details to strangers or just-met "friends".

5)     Realize you may be monitored at work, avoid sending highly personal e-mail to mailing lists, and keep sensitive files on your home computer.

6)     Beware of sites that offer some sort of reward or prize in exchange for your contact information or other personal details.

7)     Do not reply to spammers, for any reason. (The newest: you get a login and password and are asked to login to gain access to a club page.)

8)     Be conscious of Web security. (Look for encrypted sites when entering credit card and such)

9)     Be conscious of home computer security. (Keep virus protection up to date and have a good firewall in place.

10) Examine privacy policies and seals.

11) Remember that YOU decide what information about yourself to reveal, when, why, and to whom.

12) Use encryption!

1. Pick a historical flight; have students research the historical significance for presentation.
2. Make the flight and track your progress on Google Earth. Knowledge of latitude and longitude will be practiced when marking your progress.
3. Make comparisons; How did your flight compare to the original? How did it contrast? How did factors such as weather, heading, and fatigue affect your outcome?
4. Prepare presentation on your findings and present them to the class.

Introduction to Excel by Making a Calendar

1. Open Microsoft Excel
2. Go to File and Page Setup and change the orientation to landscape.
3. Change the width of columns A-G to 15.
4. In cell A1 begin typing the days of the week starting with Sunday and ending with Saturday.
5. Change the font of your days to Arial.
6. Change the size of your days to 14pt.
7. Center the names of the days in the cell.
8. Using the border tool, create squares that are 1 column by 6 rows in dimension.  Create enough for the whole month.
9. In the first row of each square add the day number and make it bold.
10. Oops, we forgot to add the month and year.
1. Insert a row above the A row
2. In this new row type the month name and year.
3. Format the row to Text
4. Center the month/year across columns A-G (center across selection)
5. Make the Month/Year 20pt/Bold/Arial
6. Add a bold black border around the Month/Year cells
11. Change the background color of Month/Year cells.
12. Change the background color of the days of the week cells.
13.  Add a heart on February 14^th for Valentines Day.
14. Add these dates to your calendar
1. February 2-Groundhogs Day
2. February 14- Valentines Day
3. February 16- Friendship Parties
4. February 19- Presidents Day (No School)
5. Any other dates you may have for this month.

15. Save and print your calendar.
