Clearly I don’t look like Rihanna, hence the upset face, and on top of that disappointment, my Ukrainian-esque milk maid braids were extra frizzy during the shoot. Kim on the other hand, looks pretty awesome!

We got together to shoot his new tanks, with the letters ADD, pretty darn cool, especially when you have A.D.D. and can relate to the subject. Of course, I took the black and white tank and dressed it up with a Moschino Cheap & Chic tuxedo jacket, along with a trend I’ve been wanting to try for sometime, the black and white shoe.

For the record, I tried jumping, but this type of maneuver is not good for big breasted women, as my lady lumps and my chin sort of combined creating some type of boob monster that even made passerbys cringe.

Looking unimpressed, I try to stay positive in this weather, wiping off snot and trying to look bad ass. I think I accomplished the look.

A nonchalant pose with the umbrella, and mother nature decides to blow some actual wind my way, making me hold tight while making a face that is by far too unattractive, yet cropping Kim out just didn’t make sense cuz he clearly enjoyed the situation, so it made the cut.

The tanks are only $25, so buy them now, and get a few for your friends.

There have been many a time where I’ve had to pitch a campaign that had bloggers competing in a challenge of sorts. While you might think “spring looks” or “nautical style” might be the dominating challenge trend this time of year, it’s actually “day to night” that wins the most popular girl at the ball award.

You see, us lady folk have an issue. At 5PM, when most of our brood escape from behind their screens and emerge into the night, they look so repulsive that it’s better for them to skip socializing with members of the opposite sex than to risk blinding someone with their corporate bad assery. Basically, they are just a bit to suited or professional to stunt like a G.

My advice for women trying to go day to night is this. Start your day looking like your dressed for the night.

That’s right kiddies.

It’s that easy.

Above, me proving my point. I’m wearing a Celia Birtwell for Uniqlo shirt and matching pants. She’s a UK textile artist from the 1960′s and 70′s that is kind of major. Over that I’m wearing a Minusey cable knit sweater (a steal at $49 bucks) and over that a grey fox shawl I’ve had since the day I was born.

I threw on a pair of DKNY ombre tights and my recent find, a pair of Marc Jacobs pilgrim shoes, which I’ve been in search of since seeing them on the runway last year. On my noggin, a Gents Co. cap, a must right now, like such a must, it’s impossible to ignore baseball caps, accept and buy as many as you can. I have like 6 right now.

So yeah, day to night in one look. Attempt to duplicate.

The morning after #AllSayntsDay, I woke up late, or better stated, I clicked the snooze on my iPhone one too many times and had to run out of the house with no time to do my hair. Luckily, most of my fro stayed in tact from the night before, leaving me with some volume to work with and instant sex hair, a look I can normally only accomplish after a marathon bang session.

Okay, too much info and moving on…

Mika, an amazing new company focused on e commerce via beautiful cinomograph-like images and editorials, asked me to style one of their launch looks. I asked my friends at Cynthia Rowley if I could pull a few pieces from her Spring collection for the shoot, a collection which has been slowly finding it’s way into my closet since shopping the designers store with Alicia Lund from Cheetah’s the New Black a few months ago. We are still editing the photos, but above is a behind the scenes look of the campaign.

If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen a few more photos of the actual outfit.

Since my hair was already a mess, I decided to stick to an 80s themed look, wearing a vintage Escada shirt, which has the most fun turtle print. I personally hate turtles, with the exception of the teenaged Ninja variety, but the shirt was bright and colorful and just what I need to pair with my new custom Modern Vice shoes, a brand I’ve been lusting over since I tour their factory a few months back with Jordan Adoni, the founder, and blogger/shoe muse Natalie Suarez of Natalie Off Duty.

It’s a variation of their Jett boot and they’re to die for. The bright yellow and blue remind me of the outfits X-men would wear, which makes me feel a bit like a superhero while wearing them.

Knowing I’d be set most of the day, I wore a pair of stretch James Jeans in an 80′s hue.

Can’t wait to share the final photos with you!

Also, Nick Arrojo’s StyleNoted, featured a ‘How To’ on creating my curly hairstyle, so check it out.

Last week, I was on a total Beyonce-kick. First, I got my hair-did to match the thick hipped diva. I came very close to being confused for her on the street. Okay, that didn’t happen, but it totally should have cause I looked something fierce. Secondly, I gave my own King of the Rock a true upgrade. As a birthday surprise I took him to John Varvatos, one of his favorite shop spots, and told him to go on a little shopping spree.

After walking the store that rock built, I decided on a few items which will instantly upgrade any man.

The Right Pair of Black Pants – Johnny V provides a few options but the one that stands out is their Chelsea Pant ($398) which look a little bit worn and come in a relaxed fit that works well for Puerto Rican booties.

The Rocker Scarf – John’s known for completing his looks on Fashion Star by adding the right scarf to bring it all together. Even when it’s not cold out, a light weight scarf adds a little conversation piece to a look. Plus, it gives you a little more to play with when you get home and the clothes come off. Saynt picked up a USA flag scarf ($298), but this Slub Gauze ($248) version makes a great alternative.

Some Bad Ass Boots – You can go construction or cowboy, but the only boots that make girls like me go “hello lover” are rockers. Johnny’s Fleetwood lace ups ($598) are a great style that comes in a few colors including a red clay which just feels so right for an upgrade.

A Fitted Two Button Black Suit – Fitted, the keyword here is fitted. Every man in his 30′s should have already established a good relation with a tailor, but if you haven’t nows the right time (Saynt, are you reading this?). It’s easy to go loosey goosey, but nothing says “well kept man” better than a suit that fits. The Hampton Suit ($1695) from Varvatos is a great choice, the fabric is beautiful, made of virgin wool and mohair and it fits like I remember you looking before we got married.

Just Like Kissing, The French Do It Better - It’s easy to get lazy and opt for a shirt that doesn’t allow for customization. A good french cuff shirt goes a long way. Varvatos makes a look a few great slim fit options which go well with his collection of cuff links. Saynt spotted these Sterling Silver Gun Cufflinks ($330). I spotted an add on to his birthday gift list.

Military Suede – Can we just establish that men look and feel better in suede? Saynt picked up two sueded items while at Varvatos, a long military-styled trench ($2300) and a sueded shirt with about a million buttons ($2100), which, seen above on the stores in-house stylist, is the right suede jacket to make an outfit.

Upgraded Linen Tee – Something is just too perfect about the feel and smell of linen, it’s like the beachside vacation of fabrics. John’s version of the classic V-neck goes for $168 and comes in the perfect shades to match your rock n roll soul.

It took about three and a half hours to create the awesomeness that sat upon my head last Wednesday.

Tim Duenas, my hairdresser at Arrojo, who has taken me from shoulder grazing tresses to nipple curtain length locks, styled by hair to match my pop-spirit animal, Beyonce, who we all know runs the world.

I’m currently working on a tutorial on how to achieve this hairstyle, as I’d like my hair to look like this at least once a month. I’m still not ready to permify this. Lots of curling, lots of foofing, lots of hairspray is my way. I’ll leave the chemical stripping for another day.

The reason why I decided to go all curly sue on your asses was that Saynt turned 30 on the 13th, another reason last week was so “epic”. He assumed he would not wake the morning of his 30th, dead in his sleep like so many over-the-hill New Yorkers before him. He’s been complaining about leaving his 20′s for weeks, his mind destitute of dreams of hitting a “30 under 30″ list before he left his prime years.

When he awoke, he quickly realized that he was over thinking failing at life and just demanded gifts. Typical.

Yet another event happened that evening, telling you, EPIC. Barney’s celebrated the 60 Year Anniversary of Chloe, and of course, the who’s who of the industry were in attendance. I chatted up Chloe Sevigny at the bar, we quickly spoke about her chilling performance on American Horror Story Asylum. DJ Harley Viera Newton spinned tunes while Leigh Lezark and Geordon Nicol danced a few feet away. We spotted Leandra Medine, Mrs.Manrepeller herself. Her paint-splatter jeans and red heels stood out amongst a group of attendees all wearing Chloe.

What was I wearing? See by Chloe dress, coat by Rodebjer, shoes Isabel Toledo for Payless, bag by Reed Krakoff, watch by Cartier, hair by Arrojo.

I proposed to Saynt on the Eiffel Tower in Paris. He said no, and somehow we still ended up getting hitched.

I met Saynt during September FW. He wasn’t interested in being pursued, so I stole his bag and he was forced to take me on a date to get it back. Exactly six months later, on his 25th birthday, I asked him to spend the rest of his life with me. I’m afraid of heights, I was scared crazy, both from my anticipated proposal and the ground so far below me. I looked at the man standing before me, took out a black velvet box which was hidden in my coat pocket, and stuttered the words I had been preparing to say for weeks. Surprised beyond words, Saynt muttered ‘no, maybe, I don’t know, let me see the ring.’

When we were first dating, we made a deal, that I wouldn’t get a diamond until he got a diamond. So I got him a diamond. A few months prior, I took all my ex boyfriend given jewelry and sold it in the hopes of having enough money to make Saynt a diamond ring, which I did. I also had it engraved, ‘deep in the heart of me’ from our song, I’ve Got You Under My Skin by Frank Sinatra.

The moments after the proposal were quiet, for hours we roamed around the streets of Paris, not talking about what had happened. A month later, back in NYC, Saynt asked me to meet him in Central Park, where he proposed under an apple tree. It was the most romantic moment in my life, and after, we grabbed froxen hot chocolates at Serendipity, where we chatted for hours about the rest of our lives together. On the eve of the anniversary of our first date, we were married.

Over the years, my ring went through many changes. It’s too long of a story to write about, but let’s just say that when it came to the ring, Saynt failed the first time around. Last year, he finally made up for all those years of ‘owing’ me the perfect diamond. I still needed a ring for everyday, and finally, a few weeks ago, Saynt worked with the amazing crew at TraxNYC (they make amazing diamond wedding rings) to design an eternity band, which I was not supposed to receive until our five year wedding anniversary. But Saynt couldn’t wait that long to give it to me! This band has 21 diamonds, one diamond for every extra special moment in our five and a half year relationship, something that I keep track of to ensure I keep getting diamond rings.

This outfit was inspired by one of the most stylist people I know, Krystal Bick of TTT. She recently rocked the most fantastic bright yellow printed Stella McCartney skirt, and my jealousy of her trendiness sparked a shopping spree that ended with the purchase of this Dolce and Gabbana piece. While Krystal looks flawless, I personally can’t rock yellow on yellow, so I opted for a more New York centric look that’s a bit darker. My new gold Kurt Geiger flats, which I picked up over the weekend, added the perfect touch of shine, and MAC’s Morange finished off the look.

I bought the Margiela coat on a whim, I walked into H&M the day of the sale, only to find one last coat, which just happened to be my size. I grabbed it, as if it was the last coat on earth, and ran toward checkout. I rarely wear it, it’s stiff, and not comfortable to wear, but I love the way it looks. I wish I could destroy it, as it if was a new pair of Levi’s, in order to soften the leather, but for now, I’ll just have to give into the roughness. My father in law told me that the coat was ugly, which is my version of a stamp of approval. What do old people know anyways? He still thinks I get hair extensions, and I keep reminding him that I did that only once, 5 years ago, for my wedding!

I also recently discovered Kurt Geiger handbags, which are so stylist and so inexpensive. My new Deuce bag looks incredibly rich, the colors are perfect for the transition from Winter to Spring, and I’ve been looking to replace my weekend bag and have finally found the perfect solution.

Also today, I’m featured on EverythingButTheDress, along with an interview of what inspires my style. Obvi, I dress to impress! Mostly cuz I want to get either snapped by street style, or laid by my husband. It’s the little things that make everyday count!

A peek at the world of street style from the perspective of a crabby old journalist, that girl Suzy Menkes has been hating on, and a boy in a bathtub. This is a world I enjoy peacocking in, a world I make money off of, so my opinions are a little, um, selfie.

Some random journalist and a few bloggers make cameos in this Garage Magazine video on street style and how it’s become a phenomenon and how it’s annoying now cause everyone is trying so hard and how it’s the reality tv of fashion (Saynt has been giving speeches on that point for years) and how it breeds monsters, not gods. Ugh. Get over yourselves.

Leave it to a fashion journalists to hate on street style stars and bloggers, again.

My personal thoughts are always ‘style and let style’, who cares if it’s not authentic, who cares if it’s a bit over-saturated now, who cares if someone put effort into their look, move on and evolve. I can’t stand it when fashion people make vein attempts at being involved in a conversation, claiming that there was a day when it was pure and real and Carine was your best friend. Complaining while enjoying the benefits of the free publicity and industry notice that the phenomenon has provided. A bit of the Louboutin calling its sole red, no?

Eitherway, the photographers still stalk and the bloggers still flock. Let it be, it means more opportunities for people to gain exposure and draw attention to themselves and their personal brands.

What’s wrong with that? Is it not the world Andy promised us?

Toward the end of the film, the filmmakers wonders if fashion “has bred its own generation of reality TV stars.” After all, both are trying to get press for the sake of press and become varying degrees of famous for doing something as simple as wearing clothing in public view.

At some point, the journalist being interviewed said he used to think the street-style explosion was great for fashion because it got a lot of people enthusiastic about the industry.

But this past season, “Oh, enough,” he thought. “It makes monsters. It doesn’t make gods, it makes monsters.” Really?!? Monsters? It’s that serious!!!

God, people in this industry can be so over the top.

So why do so many journalists have such strong opinions on bloggers and street style stars? Let’s review the facts. First, they’re broke, or broker than they used to be. There are fewer journalists being hired as magazines have cutback costs by hiring bloggers to write and develop content. Magazines like Teen Vogue, Lucky and even Vogue all have their blogger networks, helping them create content with eager contributors willing to do the work for free or cheap.

Journalists have made less and less, mainly due to bloggers and the need for publications to work with influential talents.

Also factor in the new seating rules of fashion week. There was a time where a top critic might get front row, not so with the surge of super bloggers. More and more journalists are having to find a place in second and third, sitting next to buyers and stylists not recognized enough to get the good seats.

Mix this with more than a few bloggers not even caring enough to pay attention to who they are, or without the storied history to justify their “knowledge” of fashion, new comers with a fresh take, who at first seemed like enthusiastic fans, now seem like monsters to the older journalists, stealing jobs and opportunities. I think it’s more than a bit of sour grapes, and more of a fear of being replaced.

Older, and now with fewer lucrative offers to monetize their talent, or even enough clout to hold onto their front row seats, these journalists are finding themselves forced to evolve, creating Instagram and Vine accounts, tweeting and engaging in self-promotional “Guess who I’m Hanging Out With” shots, playing a new game, with old rules that no longer have bearing.

It’s a scary place for the older critic, especially when no one is listening.

At least 20 top fashion bloggers released books in the past year, can you name the journalists who did?

Dozens were flown around the world. Hundreds received payment just to wear something. Thousands were gifted high ticket items. And millions grew in social followers, a new generation ready to make their mark in fashion. It’s a scary world for the journalist who doesn’t evolve.

Personally, I can’t wait for September.

New York, Milan, Paris and London better watch out…I’m gunning for my front row seat and I hear Saint Laurant may have one open now that Cathy Horyn is out.

Dress by Moschino Cheap and Chic

The warmth of March, the sunshine outside, the occasional NYC snowstorm thrown in for good measure, makes me want to change my hair and update my beauty products. I typically go bleach blonde this time of year, a ton brighter than my usual natural color with highlights around my face and ends. I’m not ready for the big change yet, so I’m starting slow, with my beauty routine, brighting my lip color, using foundation that leaves my skin dewey, and adding lighter eyeshadows.

I recently discovered Lancome’s Rouge in Love lipcolor in Corail, a gift from VF Agenda, a brighter hue that is perfect for the transition between seasons. The color is soft, gentle, but eye catching, noticeable but not in your face, enough color for day and enough oomph for evening.

This has been my daily look for a few weeks now, wearing Teint Idol foundation, spread all over my face with my fingers, with extra attention around my sleepless dark circles. I add a touch of eyeshadow to my lits, the lightest color in the VIP Entrance shadow quad. A bit of Doll Lashes Mascara and I’m out the door. If headed out for the evening after work, I add a bit of the darker shadow to the crease and a smudge of gold to my inner eye, to look more awake after a 12 hour work day.

Sometimes, before Spring, you have to take your pants off and just let go!

Not sure why everyone in LA is obsessed with Pink’s Hot Dogs. That’s on my mind, as well as the minor moment of sadness that comes from knowing that somehow my best shots from my last days in lala land, me showing Ron Howard how to retweet (at least there’s an instagram photo), having a spa day with Vanity Fair‘s Beauty Editor SunHee Grinnell, getting a little lunch time at Spago with Spiegel’s new Creative Director Richard Lowe and stylist Derek Walburton, all got erased and are missing forevs.

So you’ll just have to imagine me eating a double hot dog chili burrito while being drunk at 5am.

Being back in NYC made me long for some good fast food. Shake Shack is always on the top of my list. Deciding what to order, I contemplated my busy hectic life. Oscar week in LA was an amazing experience, hanging with the VF team was a dream come true and I’m hoping that some celebrity stardust rubbed off on me.

Reason being, I’m currently interviewing for three separate reality shows all based on bad asses trying to make it in the fashion industry. I’m hopeful that one of them actually considers casting me. I think I’m more suited for reality than any of the other positions available within the industry, and with the right network association, I could be bumping elbows with Coco and Naomi (Oxygen), Rachel Zoe and Brad (Bravo), Guiliana and Ryan over at E!, or Joe Zee on Sundance. Definitely a quick way to get some mega play for Indie and Socialyte. More on that if it happens, but if you’re following me on Instagram, you’ll get a few behind the scenes.

Speaking of reality, I recently spent a few hours with the Dukes of Melrose, first at their store, then again at the offices of Bravo. Cameron Silver and Christos Garkinos are hilarious and the show is lots of fun, total fashion history lesson and a great lesson on investing in pieces that appreciate in value. We had to visit their store, heard so much about it over the years, everyone says that it’s a vintage mecca.

While at Decades, I bought this tulle trench dress.

The trench is from a limited edition collection by Dita Von Teese, and I figured it would wear it constantly, over just about everything. The dress is T by Alexander Wang, bought at Neiman Marcus in Bal Harbour Shops.

Boots are Belle by Sigerson, my fave, and the fur coat I’ve had since I was 15, bought it from a creepy Russian furrier, prob not the best way to buy fox fur, but I didn’t know any better back then.

The clutch in the post is actually from Refinery29‘s recent collabo with DKNY. Inspired by their Washington D.C. edition of the site, it’s a great little piece I just had to have. You can buy yours here…

It was quite hard for me to pick just 10, so I added a few in this post, like a greedy bitch would. Big surprise, I’ve already spent some good old, hard earned cash on most of these items.

Yup, I’m already broke… yay spring.

I’ve been obsessing over street style culture lately, partially due to the fact that all the bloggers I represent at Socialyte are total #streetbait, but also cause as the new head bitch of FashionIndie I feel I have a bit of an obligation to at least look the part of a fashion editor, not the French, all in black, Carine Roitfeldish kind, but the Italian-bred, over the top, Anna Dello Russkian kind of editor. So here are my ten musts, and a few other additions, you might want to buy before I do…

1. These Cynthia Rowley neoprene shorty shorts are so Spring perfect, I recently wore them with tights, heels, and an embellished sweater also from the designer, I’m totally obsessed, and paired with some Wolford tights, they make me feel a bit like a sexy scuba instructor. Me like.

2. I’ve been giving the D.T.F. eyes to this Christian Louboutin bag since I spotted it on my last trip to Bal Harbour Shops. My sister is a head seamstress at Neiman Marcus, and she, knowing my love of all things quirkish luxe, pointed it out. I’ve been between buying it or making my own through my friends at M&J Trim, but I can’t decide.

< 3. Being addicted to BCGB makes me want everything that Lubov puts her stamp of approval on, including all their runway pieces from last season and a bunch of their Spring designs, which are still on preorder on the site. This dress is totally on my list of things to buy, in fact, their in house stylist, Alexandra Ponente, is supposed to call me the second it hits shelves. Can’t wait.

4. Lulu Frost is just the cutest, an aesthetic that is always on trend. Lisa’s personality just draws you to the brand. It was hard to pick only one item, but this 100 Year Necklace is a total must.

5. How can you not love an Herve Leger bandage bathing suit? Not really made for swimming, this suit is perfect for my trips to Miami, or for a beachside Chanel BBQ.

6. Love this Coach bag. Completely saved me during my travels to LA, not only did it fit my computer, my wallet, makeup bag, a book (was reading my friend Allie’s best seller The Liar, The Bitch, and The Wardrobe), but also two magazines plus a Smart Water. It’s like the ultimate carry on for the jetsetter.

7. I’m a sucker for a great denim jacket, especially when it’s McQueen. Perfectly distressed, this biker style jacket can be worn over everything in my wardrobe. Seriously, I have an Oscar de La Renta gown that’s about to get a punk moment.

8. Named my dog Prada Miu Miu, so you better believe I’m an obsessive of the brand. This bag. Uh, this bag. Need, want, already planning to skip a month of rent for.

9. United Nude has become my shoe brand of choice, they’re super comfortable and very on their own trend path, plus they get you noticed by street style photogs, so duh, need, want and have regularly purchased. Check out this video of me getting out of the United Nude pimp mobile during Fashion Week. And, I recently wore these shoes while in LA for my duties as Vanity Fair’s digital corespondent, Olivia Munn complimented them, kind of made my day.

10. I recently discovered Three Floor, my favorite blogger Sandra from 5InchAndUp wore one of their pieces, and now I’m obsessed. I haven’t purchased anything from the line, as I can’t make up my mind on which item to purchase, but any day now, one of their dresses will be in my closet!

11. I’ve also recently become addicted to Clover Canyon, their most recent collection spoke to me, as the inspiration came straight out of Mother Russia. Anything from their site is very worthy of attention. One of the brands to latch onto in 2013.

12. Since Kyle Anderson rocked the Chanel Hula Bag during FW, I have not stopped thinking about it, which means I’m now on a hunt for the smaller version which actually went into production. Karl, hook a sister up, me want!

Below, my full list of musts for Emma Magazine…

A few weeks ago, I met up with supermodel Coco Rocha, who was promoting her new show, The Face, to a group of fans in Westchester Mall. We chatted about her social media addiction, her favorite closet items, and what the term Supermodel means to her.

FashionIndie: Nice to meet you Coco, we’re huge fans. So tell us, why we should watch ‘The Face’?

Coco Rocha: Why not? That’s my answer. (laughs) Well first of all we’re all into mentorship-sort-of shows now-a-days. If you think of music, I mean how many mentor shows are there and we all love them? I feel like this was the time for modeling. We had ‘Americas Next Top Model.’ It has done great–20 seasons so people want something and I think this is another way for them to want something more. And mentor-ship in modeling is exactly how we actually come about. Models do as well as they can do, they really need someone to kind of pull them under their wing and help them thrive. For me for example, was Steven Meisel. He did that for me. So now we get the chance to do it with other models, but this is kind of awesome to maybe start something like this for the younger generation to look up to models. It’s true too what modeling is. This isn’t just put on for TV. There is drama… that is what modeling is about. There is aggravation and turmoil and all of that—that is modeling so now you get to see it live on TV.

FI: Amazing, well we’re super excited to watch it.

CR: I’m excited for people to see it now.

FI: Awesome, can you tell me what your favorite blogs are?

CR: Oh, my favorite blogs. You know what? I am kind of obsessed with BuzzFeed. Of course Vogue.com and I’ve got Coco Perez, Paris Hilton all of that… DListed but Buzz Feed is a way to calm down and not get me all hyperventilating about something. I can just look at a cat flying in the air—it’s quite fantastic.

FI: Perfect. Speaking of blogs, you’ve been named a social media guru of modeling. How do you think social media changed your personal life?

CR: It’s changed our industry completely. When I started, not that it was a long time ago but it was almost 10 years, I started with film. We didn’t have digital cameras. We didn’t have social media and if I had an interview, this was it. You would write it down. I’d tell you my answers. You hated me? You’d write it in a negative way. If you liked me, you loved me? You would write it nicely. But nowadays with social media, if you have a platform to speak from and you write a nasty thing about me and I felt it wasn’t exactly true, I now have the chance to go out there and write on my own behalf. It’s such a fantastic way for anyone to make a business for themselves. Personally, models didn’t have a voice. We had cheek bones and that’s all we were kind of known for. But now I can speak on my behalf and speak on models behalves and tell them the stories, secrets and trades, whatever. And people are fascinated by that. It’s been such a closed off industry that now we are opening up to the world and people are like “ah, that’s so fascinating.” Who would of thought you would have really cared what a model was doing but people seem to care very much so why not put it out there let people know what it’s all around.

It’s not that really big of a secret.

A photo of Coco from her Instagram account, a behind the scenes look at a Banana Republic photoshoot

FI: What is your favorite social media platform?

CR: I wake up every single morning and reach for my phone and Instagram is probably instant. All of my friends are from the West Coast so I wake up and see what they’ve done through the night, and make horrible decisions like great moments in life. I have my apps in order on my phone: its Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and then I have a whole social media thing but that’s the way we go in order in the morning.

FI: If there were an oxygen movie made about your life, who would play you?

CR: I don’t know, this is horrible. I love Liz Taylor and Allison McNally and Bette Midler so this is probably who should not play me but I would love..

FI: Maybe an Emma Stone..?

CR: Maybe. I’m totally not into pop culture now im so into what it once was. Me and Zack Posen watched Allison McNally with Judy Garland…theres an amazing epic video of those two singing and literally every year me and Zack send that video to each other. Look it up, it is fantastic. But I don’t have someone of my time that I would want to play me so I need to grow up and have them play me now.

Coco at the Met Gala, the wine stain was covered by her hair!

FI: Favorite items in your closet?

CR: I have a Liz Taylor dress that I bought from her auction and it was the most fantastic thing I ever bought. I wore it at the Met Gala and what was so great about it was there was a wine stain on it, but I had my hair over it so you didn’t see. But the greatest thing, everyone on the red carpet was like “where’s the wine stain?” I love things that have stories that make you ask,” ah yes, what are you wearing?” that sort of thing. ”What made you think of that?” those sort of things.

FI: In the 90s there were all of these big faces, big super models like Naomi Campbell. Recently, they said that that the super model has died down but to us you are a super model. Tell us how that feels?

CR: Why thank you. It’s nice when people say that but I agree with the fact there are no supermodels anymore. There was a generation. Are there flapper dancers anymore? No, it was a time. It was an era. It was a moment in time and it’s the same for supermodels. It’s never going to be brought back. It was a moment. If you want to call us top models nowadays sure why not, and if you think of some girls that are so out there… maybe celebrity models but the super models was a moment in time when they owned the industry. If they said they weren’t doing a show, no girls were doing a show. That show was closed down. If they said we weren’t doing that cover then it wasn’t going to happen. If they weren’t paid that wasn’t going to happen. If I did that, I would be told to go home and they’ll find a replacement. And if you were born in the 80s or 90s you are not a super model. I was born in 88 so Naomi was already working.

NOW ON TO THE BOOZE!!!!

I’m the type of drinker that loves the taste of alcohol, all thanks for my Russian heritage and parentals, which got me hooked on the good stuff by using it to help me fall sleep as a developing fetus. I was a kicker.

Now I’m an avid drinker of cocktails, especially ones made with great vodka. Mix Belvedere into anything, and I’ll be the first one at the party.

Below, a few of my go to cocktails, liquid libations to liquor you up. Remember ladies, drunk boys are easy.

The Dirty Pickle

I like my dirties mixed with pickled tomato juice instead of olive juice, a drink I first tried at NYC hot spot The Smith. It’s simple enough to make yourself, with only two ingredients, juice and vodka, and garnished with a slice of the tomato, this cocktail is heaven after a long day. The main ingredient can be found at a local jewish deli (my fave can be found in most grocery stores) and if you’re really adventurous, you can make your own, great recipe here.

The Blow Off Work and Have a Spa Day Martini

Made with Belvedere Citrus, this cocktail is refreshing enough to have daily with lunch on a sunny Spring day. Yes, I’m a lunchtime drinker, and you should be too Debbie Downer. I drink green tea almost 3 times a day, so no wonder I’m drawn to this drink. The recipe is below, the ingredients are extensive, but the outcome is fabulous:

2 oz Belvedere Citrus Vodka
2 inch Piece of cucumber
Dash simple syrup
Dash lemon juice
25ml/ 0.75 oz Green tea
Piece of fresh ginger
2 Basil leaves
Small pinch of Maldon Sea Salt

Muddle cucumber and ginger with a pinch of salt and simple syrup. Add the rest of the ingredients and shake with cubed ice. Finely strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a thin slice of cucumber.

Russian Mudslide

The Russian Mudslide is similar to a White Russian, but not at all related to the Tan Puerto Rican which lives in my house. It’s a cocktail I was addicted to in my early drinking days, as the sweetness overshadowed the taste of the alcohol.

Drink this instead of desert and the suger high might be enough to get you through a love making session with an equally bloated husband. Also a good drink on days when PiMS is beating the crap out of your babymaker.

1 1/2 oz Belvedere Vodka
1 1/2 oz Bailey’s® Irish cream
1 1/2 oz Kahlua® coffee liqueur
1 more shot of Belvedere for good measure
8 ice cubes
1 1/2 oz cream

<for extra yumminess, add:
1 scoop Haagen-Dazs® vanilla ice cream
2 scoops Haagen-Dazs® chocolate ice cream

Begin by crushing the 8 ice cubes in a blender. When ice is finely crushed, add the remaining ingredients and blend for 45 seconds on blender's highest setting. Pour into glass and serve immediately with a smile.

Like I Give a Fig

This cocktail mixes my two fave fruits, pomegranates and figs, both of which I could not get enough of as a child. My mom used to come home with one pomegranate, she would peel it and spoon feed the seeds to my sister and I, and one fig, which again my sister and I would split. #thursdaythrowback

2 oz Belvedere Vodka
a dash of crushed ginger
1 Whole pomegranate
25ml/ ¾ oz Fig puree
10ml/ ¼ oz Lime juice
10ml/ ¼ oz Vanilla sugar

Muddle pomegranate with sugar. Add rest of ingredients and shake with cubed ice. Double strain into rocks glass and garnish with a split fig.

The Best Bloody Mary Out of a Jar

If I could drink only one liquid for the rest of my life, it would be a Bloody Mary. But not just any Bloody, one made with my fave mix from McClure’s, the people who make the best pickles in the world.

Another simple cocktail, if you’re a connoisseur of Bloody Mary’s, I promise that this will be the best drink you’ve ever tasted. Mix as little or as much of the spicy concoction as you like with your Belvedere Vodka, and you’ll be happy as a clam!

I threw this outfit together to hit up the fashion week party for Speigel, a brand you may already know that recently appointed fellow fashionite, Richard Lowe, as Creative Director. Richard’s an incredibly talented designer who spent some time at Minkoff when Saynt was working with the brand. We’ve kept in touch over the years and I was totally floored when I found out about his new gig. The show had me lusting over a few pieces, but more on that at a later time.

I’m wearing a Kim Mesches custom dress, a gift from the designer who’s recently hit my lust list. He’s young, attractive, and extremely talented, making him a brave new force to reckon with in fashion. Paired with a Margiela for H&M jacket, Kurt Geiger clutch (also seen here) and thigh high boots from some sex shop in the West Village (really an under-appreciated resource for street gear).

“I was so excited when Rebecca asked me to take her place at the Makoto brunch at Bal Harbour Shops. I love a good brunch and I was happy for the excuse to take a little trip down to Miami for the day. I mean, we all need a day trip every now and then, right?

Chef Makoto

After a few hours of driving south, I was greeted by the beautiful scenery of the Bal Harbour Shops, an oasis of luxury brands nestled in the urban beauty of Miami. Resort colors dominated though I insisted on my typical new york blacks with a pop of neon infused in my tweed moto jacket and necklace.

Immediately upon entering, I was given Makoto‘s elegant take on the Pina Colada; with a touch of cilantro and embellished with a colorful Orchid. The perfect amount of flavor, and just sweet enough to almost make me forget it was a cocktail.
Surrounded by Miami’s finest local editors, writers, and foodie bloggers alike, I mingled until we were escorted to our seats. At first I thought we were picking one appetizer, but they decided to give us a tasting of all four: the Tuna Air Bread with Caesar Foam was unexpected but delightful, along with the Kobe Beef Carpaccio with Ginger and Truffle Oil. It was heaven, and it was only the beginning.

They served the main courses family style, which gave us more of a chance to talk with each other about our gastronomic experience. They started with an enormous ‘boat’ of fresh sushi and sashimi, that was quickly followed by the other four courses. I was a little overwhelmed by the amount of food at first, but quickly recovered, filling my plate with Frosty
Kobe Fried Rice, Japanese Eggplant Robata, Salmon Ponzu with Crispy Brussels Sprouts. I followed this with the most desirable Grilled Skirt Steak with Avocado, Ginger and Wasabi Puree. They all were delightful but I found the Fried Rice and Steak to be the most delicious, I seemed to be alone in this, however, the Salmon Ponzu disappeared quickly.

Before every course Chef Makoto explained the ingredients and followed up afterwards to insure everything was just right, which it always was. Last but not least of course, was dessert. I opted to trade my Moet for a perk up a la the most fabulous cappuccino this New Yorker has ever tasted. So sweet and perfectly frothed. quickly found myself surrounded by dessert and wondered how on earth I was going to eat any of it, it took some soul searching, but somehow, I found the drive to carry on. A lovely fruit filled custard had me hooked. That is, until the miso chocolate cake and rice coated ice cream caught my eye. I indulged to say the least.

After the Brunch, I moseyed around the luxurious shops of Bal Harbour, taking in the exotic scenery contrasting the big open windows of Lanvin, Chloe, and Chanel. Each one dressed perfectly for spring with no shortage of this season’s biggest trends. With everything from glamorous bookstores to salons, I bobbed along in an atmosphere that was relaxing, but with a touch of extravagance. I stopped into Gee Beauty for a little makeup touch up and then a quick trip to Neiman Marcus to try on some shoes before my trip home. I quickly slapped on the first pair of Choo’s until I spied an even better strappy sandal from Prada. I knew I had to leave before I went home with both, so alas, I left the oasis of Bal Harbour hoping to return again, not so empty handed.”
