Israeli artist Shay Aaron creates clay replicas of food at 1:12 scale – impressive. He also makes jewellery and has a shop on Etsy. Shay does things that make me smile and shake my head in wonder. He’s pretty amazing. And fun. A very good combination!

Photographer Stephen Wilkes captured the images from a fixed position, capturing images over up to a 15 hour period and later stitching them together into the seamless whole that you see here. The series, appropriately called Day to Night, tells the story of a city which bustles around the clock: people remain in the images both bright and dark. What does change are the activities presented: Coney Island transforms from a suntanning mecca to a brightly lit carnival, while hot dog venders close up shop and movie billboards light up around Times Square.

“Day to Night embodies a combination of my favorite things to photograph; people on the street melded with epic cityscapes, and the fleeting moments throughout the day and night,” says Wilkes of the project.

Cyrus Fakrodin from New Jersey and his goat Cocoa enjoy tremedous popularity in the streets of New York. While others walk their puppies, Cyrus is taking his every day walk with his unusual goat pet “Cocoa is not even aware of where it is, after all it is just goat, but it loves to hang out with people, loves to walk the streets – Central Park in particular, because there it can run and eat grass,” says the proud owner.

Egg dealers from the Chinese town Dongjang are starting to prepare dozens of eggs that are going to be used in preparation of a highly bizarre spring dish, very popular in this city. Buckets and buckets full of boyish urine are being collected from suburbian elementary schools because the urine is a key ingredient of the “innocent boys boiled eggs” dish. Most people in Dongjang enjoy this “treat” and believe that these eggs reduces body heat, improve circulation and refresh the body, although medical experts question the medicinal properties of this unusual dish.

Do not be surprised if you see artist Ben Wilson kneeling on the floor and making small works of art of flattened chewing gums on the sidewalk. So far he had done more than 10,000 works, mostly in the UK and some parts of Europe. At first he warms bubble gum, then adds varnish so that gum hardens, and then applies acrylic paint to create his own designs. This way, Wilson circumvents the UK prohibition of painting on sidewalks – because he doesn’t paint on the sidewalk, but the chewing gums glued to it.
