<p>The Brine Garden is open to the public. <strong>The Garden Conservancy</strong> and various garden clubs provide the opportunity to tour Hudson valley&#8217;s six-acre Brine Garden. It&#8217;s been part of the <a href="https://www.gardenlarge.com/the-garden-conservancys-open-day/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Garden Conservancy Open Days</a> program since 2006.</p>



<p>Since 2007, GardenLarge principal landscape designer, Duncan Brine, has conducted his annual <a href="https://www.gardenlarge.com/new-york-botanical-garden/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">naturalistic landscape design seminar</a> at the <strong>New York Botanical Garden</strong>.</p>

The Brine Garden, &#8220;is a vision that is deeply knowledgeable of plants&#8217; habits and needs and uses them to tell the landscape story&#8230;.Although the emphasis is on natives, handsome foreigners appropriate to the landscape take their place in the composition as well.&#8221;</p>

<h2>The BrineGarden &#8211; Duncan &amp; Julia Brine</h2>
<p>2024 Open Days: October 19th and 20th from 1 pm to 5 pm.</p>
<p>This naturalistic, six-acre garden connects diverse ecological areas on a former dairy farm. Many mature native shrubs and trees combine with select non-native plants to form a series of areas with views, joined by meandering paths. Duncan Brine, who works with his wife and partner, Julia, at GardenLarge, is a landscape designer and instructor at the New York Botanical Garden. Anne Raver of The New York Times writes that the Brine Garden is “a dreamlike landscape.” In its 33<sup>nd</sup> year, the garden is published in magazines and featured in Hudson Valley garden books.&nbsp;</p>
