Well it is now Bank Holiday Monday and I type away after having uploaded photos to Flickr of the race on Saturday, and what a race. 23.3 miles and 5,276 feet of cumulative climb. Well done to all the Saddleworth Runners who went for it on what is a tough race, especially Claire who is returning back to fitness.

Well, it is Wednesday and not long to the 3 Peaks Race on Saturday – http://threepeaksrace.org.uk/ – which I am looking forward to. The plan of action is KISS. Claire and I picked up at 7.30am by Simon Jump, then onto Des Thorpe, then to Horton in Ribblesdale for the start of the race. Run for a while going up and down, and it’s as simple as that. Hmmm…

Well Saturday saw us attack Pendle Hill with other madcap fell runners and what a run it was! Over 9 miles and approximately 2k of climb at a fast pace.

Looking forward to a month of fell running, well a whole year

Looking forward to a month, what’s left of it of fell running as I play catch up after my cold earlier in the month. Soon to head out an get some miles under my belt in a fresh Saddleworth morning.

Good training session on Tuesday night from Stu, as we ran around the local area for Fartlek training.

Mind you eating three miniature Melton Mowbray pork pies with mixed nuts was not a good idea as I felt sick running up to Lydgate on Oldham Road.

Well it was frosty this morning, and the first frost of the year in Saddleworth, so a rather brisk walk with the four legged burglar alarm come Found Us Mascot. Currently in the Manchester (Quantcast) office typing away before the next meeting. Nice and toasty in the office, and lovely and fresh outside.

Well relaxing after a three mile run with young Calum on the disused railway behind his house. All very good, and well done to Calum for running that distance at my pace when he is 11 years old. Yesterday saw Claire and I drive to Loch Lomond for a run up Ben Lomond which was highly enjoyable in amazing weather (gusty on the top mind you) for this time of year. Eight miles and over 3k feet of cumulative ascent, but certainly worth it!

Now to a bit of work for Found Us.

A trip to the Edinburgh Festival – 28th August

It is Saturday 29th August and I am sat in the lounge listening to Josie speaking to Claire about the holiday she has just been on with her sister Rose to Scarborough. We have been back nearly a week after our cycling trip to the Hebrides.

The day before saw Claire and I out in Edinburgh for the festival. A really lovely sunny day in an excellent atmosphere – my first time there. We did not attend any shows and just wandered and soaked up the mood…

Back from the Hebrides! On with Found Us.

Well August saw a cycle tour from south to north of the Hebrides, with time spent calling into to stay with Claire’s cousins in both Ullapool and The Black Isle. All in all a great adventure to say the least. The weather was for the most part alright, but not great, with some bad rain days, but we managed to stay dry for the most part and survived in a tent, hostels, and an outdoor centre. The photos sum it up really, but they don’t sum up the midges of Lewis! Favourite day – the one sunny day we had on Uig beach…
