Still Working
June 6th, 2025Still working on Consumer Man’s finances. He was doing really well until he had to help some of his adult children relocate to Florida. After he got them all situated in apartments and jobs, they decided to move to New York where their mother lives. Go figure.
His debts are heading in the right direction. Two of them are totally paid off.
I’m at the point where my two credit cards are paid in full monthly. My car became truly my car when I paid it off last year. Imagine a very happy face now belonging to this writer.

I know the federal government likes to have holidays on a Monday so that they can have a three day weekend. President’s Day is always the third Monday in February. I don’t know which presidents this day is supposed to celebrate. Maybe all of them.
Washington’s birthday is actually on the 22nd. So, Happy Birthday, George.
I Wonder Why

Why do journalists, authors and writers in general neglect spelling and grammar? I can’t understand why they just slop through a manuscript.
If they can’t be bothered to look things up, there’s always programs like spell check and Grammarly.
Some examples of not using the proper words include: berth versus birth, CV versus resume’,yea versus yeah, and accept versus except.
I know this doesn’t bother everyone. I think maybe age and what used to be taught in the educational system makes a big difference.
One last thing. Sweet iced tea grates on my nerves. Maybe these authors don’t know that down here in the south, sweet tea is always iced. Never hot. Sweet iced tea is redundant!
