An update regarding transitioning from LUM to DSLS:

Here is the latest listing.

The support of LUM licensing technology will end on December 31st, 2013.

This technology is replaced by DSLS, which is already available in all V5 releases since V5R21 onwards, and in all V6 releases.

DSLS is supported on the following release levels:

•V6R2010x and higher

•V5R21 and higher [CATIA V5, DELMIA V5, ENOVIA V5, RADE V5, SmarTeam V5, CCD V5]

•V5R20 SP7 from HF26 onwards (*)

•V5R20 SP6 from HF69 onwards (*)

•V5R20 SP5 from HF84 onwards (*)

•V5R20 SP4 from HF89 onwards (*)

•V5R20 SP3 from HF76 onwards

•V5R19 SP9 from HF96 onwards (HP-UX not supported) (*)

•V4R2.5 SP29 (HP-UX not supported)

•VPM1.7

•VPM1.6 PTF30 from HF3 onwards (HP-UX not supported)

•HFs are also available for other VPM1.6 PTFs, such as PTF28HF6, PTF26HF9, PTF22HF59

(*) SmarTeam: DSLS is supported by SmarTeam V5R20 SP4/SP5/SP6/SP7 and V5R19SP9. Customer has to request a dedicated SmarTeam HotFix

(*) CCD: DSLS is not supported by CCD V5R20 – CCD V5R19

The HotFix Release Note contains a reference to a pdf explaining how to deploy the hotfix.

DSLS will not be available for V5R18 and for releases prior to V5R18 as these releases are no longer supported.

On Saturday May 4th, the Michigan Industrial and Technology Education Society, MITES, (www.mites.cc) held its annual regional competition.  This was my 20th year as a judge for the Mechanical Drawing category.  This category is broken down into 20 sub-categories with possible entries from 5 separate skill levels.  The projects range from hand drawn detail and assembly drawings to photorealistic CAD renderings.  This year’s regional had over 200 entries from several schools in South East Michigan.  The 1st through 4th place entries go onto the State competition which will be held on May 9th.

Starting with V5R21 DSLS¹ is the preferred license tool.  Earlier versions of V5, namely R19 and R20, will require a Hotfix to use DSLS.  Below is a list of which Service Pack and Hotfix will work with R19 and R20.  Stay tuned for more updates to this list.

DSLS is currently supported on the following release levels:

Available:

•V6R2010x and higher

•V5R21 and higher (including SmarTeam)

•V5R20SP7 from HF26 onwards (*)

•V5R20SP6 from HF69 onwards (*)

Pending:

•V5R20SP5: to be determined – inside a coming SP

The Support of LUM¹ licensing technology will end on December 31st, 2013.
This technology has been replaced by DSLS², which is already available in all V5 releases since V5R21, and in all V6 releases.

Dassault Systèmes is recommending customers and partners who currently use LUM as a licensing system for products under support, to migrate to the DSLS licensing system in 2013, if and when available.

You can get more detailed information in the document “REMINDER: LUM licensing technology End of Support” published on January 4th 2013 on your DS Support Portal (private access).
Customer Support Centers remain the primary focal point of customers/partners for support questions related to licensing.
