Having trouble finding a Father’s Day gift this year? I know I am! Well I know if your Father is anything like mine he loves to eat in general but really loves to eat chicken. I thought about getting him a KFC gift card (not really) but this just doesn’t seem good enough to me. So I came across the Sweet Sue Whole Chicken in a Can! The great part about this is, it will never expire like the gift card and he can eat it anytime he wants. Even 10 years later! Well, I don’t know about that but isn’t canned stuff supposed to last a long time?

This has to be a joke, or I hope it is. I am surprised that Amazon would keep such a product on their site with the funny/disturbing comments and not to mention the pictures! Nasty! Do they not moderate their comments or user submitted photos? If you go to the user submitted photos look at the last one, it is a cop with a quote under it saying, “Make Every Day count”. What is that about (its pretty funny though)!

Personally, I find this really disgusting/funny/disturbing in a way because just look at it. I will warn you the user submitted photos on the site are pretty nasty and I hope that isn’t how it really looks! I still can’t believe this is real and not a joke. If anyone actually purchases one of these let me know how that goes!

I found this retro bluetooth headset at ThinkGeek.com and it has to be the coolest bluetooth ever invented! Definitely not for practical use, but to get reactions out of people, this thing will work! Go here to check it out, it is only $29.99 which is about the price of a normal bluetooth anyway.

I don’t even understand how the companies even thought this was a good idea. I know it had all to do with money and they wanted to pay for a sponsorship but come on, Hummer sponsoring a green earth section is just funny. If I remember correctly Hummer’s are the worst vehicle on gas and polluting the environment unless they built a hybrid version which probably gets 12 miles per gallon highway instead of 9, thanks for that guys.

According to EPA.gov the 2009 Hummer H3 has a score of 1 in the green house emission category with 10 being the best. Check out the info here. Well since they are sponsoring a green earth section on a website I think I will look into buying a Hummer now! I still can’t believe the US car companies are putting so much effort to push these huge, expensive, gas guzzling vehicles on everyone, I understand that they make the most profit from these vehicles, but how about they concentrate on building great cars that are fuel efficient and affordable.

“Contrast sensitivity” is a basic but important part of visual perception and one of the first aspects to degenerate with age. Those with good contrast sensitivity can discern very small changes in shades of grey when placed against a uniform background and cope well driving at night and in poor visibility.

Those with poor contrast sensitivity have several options to improve their sight, such as eye surgery, contact lenses or glasses. But now there may be another way forward as a team of researchers from the University of Rochester have found that playing video games could actually improve a gamers’ eyesight.

“We’ve found that action videogames train the brain to process the existing visual information more efficiently, and the improvements last for months after game play stopped,” said Daphne Bavelier of the University of Rochester, New York.

But, it has to be action video games, say the researchers. Even though the test was small, they did find that those of their test gamers who played the action video games Call of Duty 2 and Unreal Tournament 2004 had better contrast sensitivity after the nine week test compared with those gamers who played non-action video games, in this case The Sims2. This was put down to the need for greater visual alertness in action video games where instant reactions were necessary in unpredictable environments.

Even more surprising to the researchers, who had until now assumed that contrast sensitivity could not be improved by training the eye, was that most regular players of action video games see improvement of about 50% after around 50 hours of playing, and that effect could persist for months or even years after their most recent session.

“When people play action games, they’re changing the brain’s pathway responsible for visual processing. These games push the human visual system to the limits and the brain adapts to it,” added Bavelier.
