Kerry Newborn Photography | Pádraig

I had a great opportunity to photograph Róisín and Mícheál’s beautiful little baby boy - Pádraig in Kerry. You may remember Róisín and Mícheál from their engagement session and a wedding few years back.

It was amazing to watch how gentle, caring and warm parents Róisín and Mícheál are. They let me to observe and photograph them during typical every day routine such as breast feeding, bathing and having some fun time with parents. Pádraig was an absolute dream baby to photograph – very calm and patient.

Thanks so much for having me photograph your little Páidí - he is so lucky to have been born into such loving family!

ISPWP Award Winning Image | Venue or Location

I was really humbled to see the results of the International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers – ISPWP Winter 2012 Contest. One of my images of wonderful couple Emily and Juergen taken at fabulous Bantry House in Co. Cork was placed in the top 20 in the Venue or Location category. This is the image:

Not heard of the ISPWP? The International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers is a rarity among wedding photography organisations. Photographers cannot simply buy an ISPWP membership, they have to earn it.

Their requirements are experience, talent, and professionalism and to be accepted, a photographer must have shot at least 50 weddings, submit their portfolio for review, agree to operate under the ISPWP Code of Conduct, and have an ISPWP Sponsor or four references. Then they have to be voted in by current members.

In short, when you hire an ISPWP Wedding Photographer, you are hiring a talented veteran with a track record, peer recognition, and a passion for creating heirloom images of your wedding.

I feel like not long ago I was writing Stepping into 2012 post and it is already a year after that time. It is unbelievable how time flies…

I am not a great writer but I am constantly working on my writing skills and I will do my best to keep this blog regularly updated in 2013.
I will have some exciting news, weddings, portraits and family sessions to share with you.
I also hope I will finally have more time to focus on my 101 in 1001 goals and blog about them.

It’s been a challenging year for Bartek Witek Photography and for me personally but I have to say it was also a very interesting one. I have photograph wonderful weddings. I have meet wonderful people, great clients/couples that have trusted me and worked with me, fantastic photographers, florists, hair stylists, make-up artists and other amazing vendors.

The Brehon Hotel Wedding | Georgina and Paul

Please meet Georgina – the Mallow girl and Paul – real Scott from Edinburgh. They came over from Vancouver, Canada to get married in Ireland and I had a pleasure to photograph this day for them. Thank you for giving me this opportunity – I had an amazing time alongside you, your families and friends.

It was a very special day – filled with joy and happiness despite of the heavy shower that started unexpected just when the bride was arriving at the church.

I had a pleasure to meet Brenda while photographing Anne and Junior wedding a while back. I knew from that point her wedding was going to be a wonderful celebration and have a great family atmosphere – and it was. Brenda & Eamon – beautiful, fun, caring, loving couple. Exposure doesn’t pay bills…

On several occasions I was asked to photograph certain projects or to document events where the compensation proposed was “Exposure”. I received another one today and as always I have explained that I am happy to take part in a creative collaborations or projects where everyone involved works for “free” and there is a certain goal. I am also happy to support Charity Organizations and give back to the community. But my water is boiling when I can straight see that someone is trying to rip off hard working photographers.

Exposure is great, photographers work needs to be seen to get more work, but… “Exposure doesn’t pay the bills!”
