Collaborated with award-winning local podcasting firm

CHERRY HILL, NJ – December 24, 2009 –Flaster/Greenberg has begun distributing a series of nine video podcasts about New Jersey’s new Site Remediation Reform Act (SRRA). The video podcasts were recorded during a half-day seminar Flaster/Greenberg held at its Cherry Hill, New Jersey conference center in November.

The videos are available for viewing (no cost) at https://lubetkin.net/tag/environmental-law/. The video programs are also available through the Apple iTunes Music Store.

Professional Podcasts LLC of Cherry Hill, the award-winning video and multimedia production subsidiary of Lubetkin Communications, produced the programs and handled the Internet distribution of the podcasts. Since 2005, Professional Podcasts has been producing audio podcasts for Flaster/Greenberg, including the popular Rutgers Quarterly Business Outlook, which the law firm sponsors.

“The Site Remediation Reform Act made significant changes in the relationship between owners of affected sites and the professionals with whom they need to work to resolve environmental issues,” said Franklin Riesenberger, shareholder and chair of Flaster/Greenberg’s Environmental Practice Group. “The changes are complex and difficult to understand, so while we knew our perspective on the new law would be valuable to our clients and the commercial real estate community, being able to offer a complete video program extends the benefit of our expertise to an audience that was unable to join us for the actual seminar.”

“We are pleased to be working with Flaster/Greenberg to produce podcast programming,” said Steve Lubetkin, managing partner of Professional Podcasts. “Flaster/Greenberg was one of the first firms to recognize that their many constituencies find great value in the ability to access the law firm’s expertise and knowledge through audio and video podcasts. Online videos like this have become an increasingly important way for firms of all sizes to engage with their client base, and demonstrate their effectiveness and thought leadership to prospective clients in ways that can’t be accomplished exclusively through words and still photos.”

Under the Site Remediation Reform Act (SRRA), New Jersey regulators are implementing dramatic changes in the remediation of contaminated sites. The NJDEP is formulating the details of how this new law will be applied.

Based on continuing talks with NJDEP personnel and private consultants, who will be “Licensed Site Professionals” standing in the shoes of regulators, Flaster/Greenberg’s environmental attorneys provide in-depth analysis on what to expect as the SRRA goes into effect.

In this segment, Flaster/Greenberg shareholder Mitchell Kizner welcomes the audience and introduces the seminar.

Speakers:

Michael Homans, Labor and Employment shareholder, Flaster/Greenberg P.C.

Wanda Flowers, Chief Counsel, Sunoco, Inc.

Nori Sue Fey, General Counsel, Bayada Nurses, West Deptford, NJ

Mary Tiernan, Program Analyst for the EEOC

Only the Delaware River separates NJ,PA and DE geographically, but they are worlds apart in their laws regulating the workplace. NJ places greater burdens and restrictions on employers, while providing employees with many additional remedies and causes of action. PA provides employees with fewer causes of action, but does present greater risks and liabilities as to some areas of employment law — such as wage payment and collection. And it’s a “small wonder” that DE, just down the river, has its own set of rules, too. Further muddying the waters are the procedural and administrative differences in initiating employment discrimination claims in each jurisdiction.

This panel discussion identified key areas of concern and helps counsel to companies with operations in all three states navigate the variations in state law.
