CTIA Wireless IT has been a launching pad for industry products and deals for location-based services
and the enterprise market for several years. However, there seemed to be less people at CTIA Wireless IT and the
Navteq Connections 2008 meeting than in 2007&amp;acirc;&amp;euro;&amp;rdquo;although conference
officials say otherwise. One industry executive cited a downturn in the economy and competing conferences as the
main reasons why the conference seemed to have fewer attendees. Another consultant said that the conference should
be merged with the gigantic CES in January to beef up that show's lagging wireless offerings. Still, CTIA Wireless
IT, with concurrent Navteq and SiRF Technology meetings, is a must-go-to conference for the industry.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/gpsworld/LBS/~4/391909240" height="1" width="1"/>
