Just a quick update on what we’re planning for the Main Insomnia Radio Show

The Daily Dose has been going from strength to strength over the four and a half years since we decided to make it truly Daily in April 2008. Well over 2,000 free MP3 downloads since then. But the Dose doesn’t allow us to feature all the great independent music we are sent, which deserves to be heard.

So. We’ve decided to relaunch the Main Show, starting now. The format will be familiar, featuring great independent bands from around the world. But because of where we receive music from most, probably an emphasis on US and UK bands.

It is likely that we won’t be following a strict timetable, we’ll put out a show when we have about an hour of great music sent to us, rather than ‘every Wednesday’ for example.

Welcome to Insomnia Radio: Australia episode 26. It’s a busy time for Erk watching live music in Sydney! Erk has been at one EP launch last weekend (Hard As Nails) & has another one this weekend (Vanity Riots). There is a lot of great music out there & in Sydney this last Saturday night, there is great music that Erk has featured on Erk FM & Insomnia Radio: Australia before in at least 5 different venues on the one night. Somehow Erk wishes he could be in several places at once! This week, Erk also found that a band he has featured before are starting to gig again with a new lineup.

In an unusual move for an Australian indie/unsigned band, Melbourne female fronted hard rock band Bellusira are making an attack on the Australian music charts by encouraging people to pre-order their debut album Connection via JB Hi-fi. Online pre-orders will be signed by the band. In-store pre-orders are also available.
