MCNC was recognized with a Full Steam Award by WRAL Tech Wire on Thursday night for being a company achieving success today where other companies have previously tried and failed.

WRAL Tech Wire's first "Full Steam Ahead Awards" was a salute to the best companies and technology leadership North Carolina currently has to offer. An overflow crowd of more than 250 people packed the Fullsteam Brewery in Durham for the event.

World Fiber crews bridging fiber on Outer Banks

A convoy of workers and equipment from World Fiber Technologies, Inc., headed to North Carolina’s Outer Banks on Friday, Dec. 2, to begin attaching conduit and fiber-optic cable along five bridges as part of NCREN’s expansion through the Golden LEAF Rural Broadband Initiative (GLRBI).
