In Episode #11 of the Middle Chamber Books podcast, we present a conversation with Regina Leeds, author of One Year to An Organized Life. Regina is a frequent radio and TV talk show guest, and produces a series of one minute tips about organizing on Sirius Satellite Radio. When she's not writing and speaking about organizing, she helps private clients get organized in their personal and professional lives.

New York City native Regina Leeds has brought order to home and work environments across the United States since January, 1988 when she started her company, Get Organized! by REGINA. Currently based in Los Angeles, her clientele runs the gamut from movie stars to business people and housewives.

Regina is the author of five books: “The Zen of Organizing; Creating Order and Peace in Your Home, Career and Life” and “Creating a Place Without Losing Your Space: a Couples Guide to Blending Homes, Lives and Clutter” (Alpha Books). In 2002 she ghost wrote a book for a shelf help guru on an aspect of getting organized. “The Idiot’s Guide to Decluttering” (Alpha Books) was published in May, 2007. “One Year to an Organized Life” (Avalon) hits bookstores in January, 2008.

Regina was a regular contributor to Lime.com, the media branch of AOL co-founder Steve Case’s company, Revolution. You can hear her one minute tips on Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 114. A one-hour TV special called ‘The Zen of Organizing’ was created for the Fine Living Cable Network in the spring of 2003 and continues to air.

About this program

Katie Delahaye Paine has just written her latest book on the measurement of public relations results. It's called Measuring Pubnlic relationships, the data-driven commujnicators guide to success. The book focuses on giving public relations practitioners practical step-by-step advice for measuring their programs and managing their relationships.

Paine is a founding member of the IPR's Commission on Research and Evaluation, the PR industry's standard-setting body for measurement. Paine co-chaired the US Public Relations Task Force-developed to establish standards for PR evaluation-and she served as the US liaison to the European Standards Task Force to set internationals standards for media evaluation.

Paine frequently lectures to conferences and universities including The Conference Board, Public Relations Society of America, International Association of Business Communications, The San Francisco Academy, IPRA, the University of New Hampshire, New Hampshire College, and San Jose State University. A Cum Laude graduate of Connecticut College's class of 1974, Paine majored in history and Asian studies. She received an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from New Hampshire College in May 1996.

Paine is a board member of New Hampshire Public Radio and The New Hampshire Political Library.

Insider Tips from “New Media” Practitioners

WEST DEPTFORD, NJ—Two regional business service organizations are joining forces to offer a free workshop on how to successfully use “new media” on Wednesday, January 16, from 8 AM to 11 AM at Riverwinds in West Deptford.

The Non Profit Development Center of Southern New Jersey and the Entrepreneurs Forum of Southern New Jersey are presenting their first-ever joint workshop on the topic of “Web 2.0—What It Is, Why It Matters, and How to Use It.”

Thanks to a sponsorship grant from Susquehanna Bank, registration fees have been waived and the event is free and open to the public.

The workshop will feature two sessions discussing how two distinct groups—entrepreneurs and leaders of NPOs—can use the not-so-new social media that are lumped under the term “Web 2.0” to help their organizations.

Joining advertising and public relations executive Michael Willmann of WMSH Marketing Communications, who will moderate, in the first session will be:
• Steve Lubetkin, APR, Fellow, PRSA, managing partner of Professional Podcasts LLC and the acknowledged dean of podcasting in the Garden State,

Urgent need for books in a new library in one of America's poorest cities

If you have the time and ability to help, please contribute some books so that the young people in this very desperate city of Camden can have some opportunities to read and explore the world of books.

Help!!!. I do not know if you are all aware of the fact that the City of Camden has opened a new library in the Centerville section of Camden, but there is a problem, it is a library with hardly any books. I recently became aware of this, and being an avid reader and a lover of books, I checked it out with Ms. Teresa Gorman head of the library. Now hereâ€™s the story. We need books, so I am asking you to send me the books that you have at home, be it one or more than one that you have read and no longer need. Send them to me in the Mayorâ€™s office, if you canâ€™t send them call me and I will pick up.

The books we need are fiction, childrenâ€™s books, school age books and any book by a black author or a Hispanic author as there is one section of the library for such books. Donâ€™t let me down or most importantly the people in Centerville. Thank you.
