				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A few times every week I get a pitch to join someone’s network.  Sometimes they’re crass pitches I just ignore.  Other times I politely decline and explain I am happy with my company and I’m not sponsorable.  Then they all invariably say something like, “You understand, I had to ask.”<span id="more-1987"></span></p>
<p><i>Ah, no.  No you don’t.</i></p>
<p>Let’s test out an analogy.  You’re a guy and you meet a very sexy women and you find out she’s married.  You say something like, “I know you’re married and love your husband and all, but would you like to sleep with me, and see – maybe you’ll like me better than him.”</p>
<p>She gets offended and slaps you.  You’re shocked and say, “You understand, I had to ask.”</p>
<p>No.  No you didn&#8217;t.</p>
<p>There is something called professional courtesy.  That’s why I don’t call up Jordan Adler, Richard Brooke, Art Jonak or Donna Imson and try to pitch them on my deal.  They are in competing companies, but they are still my peers and colleagues in the profession I am also in.</p>
<p><i>Now I will be the first to admit, I wasn’t always this way…</i></p>
<p>When I started out, I also thought the secret was chasing after everybody in those other companies and explaining why their deal sucked and mine was superior.   That’s the arrogance that comes from being new, not knowing what you’re doing, and not having respect for the profession.</p>
<p>But once you grow up, learn something about the business and understand it, your viewpoint needs to change.   It doesn’t serve us to tear down other companies.  It just makes us all look bad to anyone not in the business.  And speaking of people NOT in our business, last time I checked, there were more than 6.8 BILLION people – not in Network Marketing, yet.  Why don’t you call up some of them?</p>
<p>And the next time you’re thinking about trying to cross recruit me or anyone else from another company thinking, “Hey, I have to ask,” remember this:</p>
<p>No.  No you don’t.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Are you really afraid to call certain prospects?  Good.  That tells you a couple things…<span id="more-1982"></span></p>
<p>First, that they really are great prospects.  And that’s why you’re nervous.  The second – and most important – thing to remember is this: The greater your fear is of something, the more important it is for you to do it.</p>
<p>Because that fear is really your self-sabotage mechanism kicking in to thwart you.    That fear is really the worthiness memes you’ve adopted, subconsciously telling you that you’re not good enough, or deserve it enough.</p>
<p>What you think is fear of rejection is actually fear of acceptance.  Because what you think is fear of failure is much more likely to be subconscious fear of success.</p>
<p>Embrace your fear.  Then kill it by picking up the phone.</p>

<p>It may not be sexy to talk about the core, fundamental strategies for growing a Network Marketing organization today.</p>
<p><em>I get that…</em></p>
<p>Everyone wants to sell you lead generation systems, downline building services, or tell you that you can sit home in your bunny slippers doing social media posts.  If you believe that, you can stop reading now.</p>
<p>Since you’re still here, let me tell you what’s actually sexy.  Duplication is sexy. Helping new people break ranks is sexy.  Actually making money is sexy.  So let this note just serve as a reminder…</p>

<li>It’s not what works – it’s what duplicates</li>

<li>It doesn’t matter if you make fast money – if your people aren’t making money, your income is going to dry up.</li>

<li>Building a large successful market is not easy; it’s not supposed to be.</li>

<li>But building a large network that achieves steady growth is simple.  It’s done by leading a large group of people, to follow some simple actions over a sustained period of time.</li>

<p>1)   Forward the message or blog to everyone on your team.</p>
<p>2)  Pick up the phone and personally call all of your serious personally sponsored distributors and tell them about the email.</p>
<p>3)  Read both books and go through all 12 training segments of DN.  I don’t care if you’ve read one of the books ten times.  If you haven’t read it within the last 2 months, read it again.  Obviously you’ve been distracted by bad advice and got off track.  I want you back laser-focused on your strategy.</p>
<p>4)  Update your candidate list.  Yeah, yeah, I know you did this before.  Do it again.  Make it FRESH!  There are people who said no that you should revisit because things in their lives have changed.  Maybe you made a lousy approach the first time.  Maybe you have some new products, or contents to update them with.</p>
<p>5)  Get to work!</p>
<p>I hope you take all this in the spirit it is intended.  I want you to succeed.  I really, really do.  And while the business isn’t easy, it is simple.  First it takes becoming proficient in four basic skills sets:</p>
<p>1)   Meeting People</p>
<p>2)   Working a Candidate List</p>
<p>3)   Making Compelling Invitations</p>
<p>4)   Follow Up</p>
<p>The first three resources will teach you exactly how to do all this.  Those skills will take you to through the $250,000-a-year barrier.   But as soon as you crack 5K a month, get going on the Mega-MLM training.  That will give you the leadership and management skills to lead a huge organization.</p>

<p>That resource is <a href="http://www.networkingtimes.com/subscribe.php/" target="_blank" class="extlink" target="_blank"><em>Networking Times</em></a> magazine.  It can really make a difference to you in several ways:</p>
<p>First and foremost, it can build your belief in the profession!  Every month they profile top producers in our business, and tell their stories.  These totally generic profiles are inspirational, motivational and really do anchor your belief in the possibilities of our amazing profession.</p>
<p>Second, it will teach you new skills to grow your business.  You’ll become a better recruiter, present better, follow up with more success, and develop leadership skills.  Every issue is packed with great training content.</p>
<p>And finally, Networking Times is a great credibility tool to use with prospects.  It’s a professional, glossy, national magazine found on the newsstand that highlights our business in a positive way.</p>
<p>So I’ve got three suggestions for how you can use this resource to grow your business now:</p>
<p>1)   Get to Barnes and Noble or another newsstand and buy out any issues left of the Nov/Dec issue.  This one has me on the cover and features an interview on my new book and why it predicts the “golden era” of Network Marketing.  We make the case for way retail is dying and why MLM is a more elegant model that will capture a huge swath of that market share.  So buy out any copies you can find, because this is an issue you can use in your follow up packets for years.</p>
<p>2)   Get a subscription.  If you are serious about success in the business – you need to be a student of the profession.  Set the example for your team and be learning new skills every month.  The investment will pay for itself thousands of times over.  Get your subscription here:</p>

<p>3)   Forward this email and share this blog to everyone on your team.  You need a connected, motivated and learning team.  This magazine will help you get that.  Create a culture where everyone on your team gets new distributors signed up with a subscription right away.</p>
<p>Frankly, we ‘re doing a horrible job supporting a resource that supports us so well.  We should have a couple hundred thousand (or couple million) team members who are paid subscribers to this magazine.  It’s a smart move for your business to get your team subscribing and by everyone doing so, it means this valuable resource will be around to help us all, for many years to come.  So I hope you’ll join me in supporting the great work the NT team does over there, and ensure they are around to help us for many years to come!</p>
