Tony Zeoli interviews Brett Deutsch, President/CEO of Crossed Over Entertainment, an independent music promotion and marketing company, about working music to Internet and terrestrial radio stations and DJs.

Brett’s got interested in music promotion through his brother, Frank Murray, who is currently VP of Promotion at Robbins Entertainment. He started at Slip’n'Slide, an early UK dance and electronic music label that opened offices in USA (and is now part of Soundz Unlimited), then went to work under Fred Held at Heat Entertainment. In 2000, Brett and his partner, Melanie Weimer, launched Crossed Over Entertainment.

Over the last few months, I’d been working on getting organized for our move from Chapel Hill to Winston-Salem, NC. That meant going through boxes and boxes of vinyl, some of which I put up on Discogs for sale (yup, here’s the link) and rummaging through my music storage, only to find a bunch of my old mix shows, which I’m posting online for your listening enjoyment.

Here’s one from December of 2000. I don’t have the full track listing, but there are some great house classics in the mix, like Chocolate Puma’s ”I Wanna Be U,” Modjo’s “Lady,” a remix of Stevie Wonder’s “All I Do,” and Wamdue Project “Cascades of Colour.” Take a listen, site back and enjoy!

After a long break, I’m back with a new 180-minute Netmix Global House Sessions Podcast. Has it been a year already? I guess so. Life kind of got in the way. I’m brushing off the laptop cobwebs and putting together a hot mix for the holidays.

Now for something we didn’t know…Birmingham U.K. producer/dj, Kim Fai! He’s listed on the bill along with Sleepy & Boo. This cat is sick! We just checked out his tracks on his MySpace. What! Yo…crazy! His remix of the balearic classics Inner City Good Life and the Paul Thomas & Myke Smith remake of Atlantic Ocean Waterfall are incredible. He’s got a bunch of tracks out, including Drug Music 2009 with Mark Knight from Toolroom Knights on the vocal. We hadn’t heard his remix of Funkagenda’s “What the F*@&k.” We found the YouTube track and it’s served up in this post. Very deep, dark and certainly underground.
