The software market continues to grow consistently in Q3 2011 in Asia with robust hiring and people movements in the industry, largely fueled by increased demand for Software and Services capabilities in Asia.

The world may be flat, but Software still has a big US bump.

There has been much discussion and debate surrounding economic growth around the world and the strength and scale of many diverse economies. The current dynamics of the software industry have some interesting counters to this. Of the top 200 largest software firms in the world (Source: Software 500 www.softwaremag.com), 82% are HQ’d in the US, 11% in Europe and 7% elsewhere.

So far, 2011 has seen cloud computing transition from an industry buzzword to a business-critical solution. While Gartner anticipates that the spending on cloud computing applications will reach $150 billion by 2013, we have witnessed more and more resources being poured into R&D by both technology start-ups and established service providers.

Within the growth that we saw during 2010, two areas stood out as having the most rapid growth. Firstly searches for CIOs, CTOs and related roles. The second area is software, suggesting that this area is crucial to the transformation of businesses for the future. This review of the key movements in 2010 is indicative of the level of activity and the growth in the sector.
