WELCOME TO SONIC SPOTLIGHT PRODUCTIONS.
In 2021, it became clear to owners (and teachers) Mark & Kathleen Fiske that without taking a new, bold approach, they would witness a second class of pandemic-affected high school senior musicians losing “milestone” opportunities to perform music. Emotionally hurt by the social upheaval they experienced, they described performing music as “a need” - one that the owners set out to do their best to meet.
After successfully meeting that goal, Sonic Spotlight Productions, LLC was officially formed in the Winter of 2022 in Bucyrus, Ohio with the intent of providing support, resources, and services for local music and musicians in Crawford County, and its neighboring counties (Huron, Richland, Morrow, Marion, Wyandot, and Seneca Counties). After over 20 years in the fields of music education, music production (live and recorded), and basic instrument repairs, the owners witnessed a participation decline in school, local, independent, and live music in their region, and set out to begin to help to address it.
An imbalance between what local musicians are paid (which varies from “very little” to “you were given the opportunity to perform”) - and in services available to school-aged musicians - is something that we believe it’s time to fix, and that we believe we have the experience and infrastructure to tackle.
