GTA Chinatown Wars Out Now!

GTA Chinatown Wars has come out for the Nintendo DS, and is already being called by some the best DS game ever. Here's an idea of the story:

Following his father's murder, Huang Lee has a simple mission: deliver an ancient sword to his Uncle Kenny to ensure his family retains control of the Triad gangs of Liberty City. Huang is a spoiled rich kid who expects everything to run smoothly, but his trip does not go exactly as planned. After being robbed and left to die, he will search for honor, riches and revenge in the most dangerous and morally bankrupt city in the world.

The game features full GTA style gameplay, with a replay feature for missions, co-op action, and full stat tracking.

GTA IV Lost and Damned Out Now on Xbox Live

Rockstar have put out the first DLC for GTA IV, called The Lost and Damned. In the game, you play as Johnny, who is a veteran member of The Lost, a notorious biker gang. The downloadable content costs 1600 points ($19.99) and can be bought as a downloadable code in stores, or downloaded directly online.

GTA IV: Rockstar Games Announces Grand Theft Auto IV for the PC

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars coming to the DS!

This has been announced at the Nintendo E3 Press Conference. It will be set in Liberty City. More details to follow!

GTA IV Glitch: Preventing you from getting 100%

As a heads up to those out there going for 100%, there is a well-known glitch that many people are experiencing that limits the completion amount to 98%. I won't post the details here because some people may not want to see character names, but please read up on the post by Synchronizer to see if it's happened to you.

Only 2,676 Claims in GTA Hot Coffee Lawsuit

GameDaily is reporting that the hot coffee lawsuits, if you remember from San Andreas, only bothered 2,676 enough for them to file in the class action lawsuit.

These various claims, which range from $5 to $35 and sometimes include a fresh copy of the game, will cost Take-Two $30,000. Take-Two has agreed to make a $860,000 charitable contribution as well. By contrast to this, Lesser and his colleagues at 10 other law firms are seeing $1.3 million in legal fees, a fact that rankles some.

It looks like Rockstar got a great deal out of the hot coffee fiasco: a ton of free press!

GTA IV DLC Delayed until Nov 08 - Jan 09

There's been a slight delay as to when we can expect to see new GTA IV DLC. Take-Two says:

"Fiscal 2008 guidance reflects the release of the first instalment of episodic content for Grand Theft Auto IV for Xbox 360 in the first quarter of fiscal 2009 instead of the fourth quarter of fiscal 2008 in order to provide a better balance in Take-Two's release schedule..."

Odds are we will be seeing a release in time for Christmas '08.

GTA IV Sells 6 million copies in first week, worth $500 million

According to Take-Two, the release of Grand Theft Auto IV has been the biggest media release in the history of the world. Bigger than any movie, videogame, or music. Details from the official release:

Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), said today that Grand Theft Auto IV has surpassed all-time entertainment records for day one and week one sales by dollar value. Released on Tuesday, April 29th, Grand Theft Auto IV, the critically acclaimed video game, has sold through to consumers approximately 6 million units globally with an estimated retail value of more than $500 million in the first week. Grand Theft Auto IV sold approximately 3.6 million units on its opening day with a retail value of approximately $310 million globally.

"We knew Grand Theft Auto IV would break new ground in terms of the player's experience, with its compelling story line, extraordinary gameplay and action that ranges over a broad urban canvas. Now, it has broken sales and rating records as well. Grand Theft Auto IV's first week performance represents the largest launch in the history of interactive entertainment, and we believe these retail sales levels surpass any movie or music launch to date. In other news, a PS3 patch was put out today addressing freezing issues and other undocumented bugs. When connecting to the internet to play the game on PS3, you will be asked to download the new patch.
