To provide uniformity and facilitate communication about the disease, the Coronavirus Study Group (CSG) of the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses decided to call the new virus Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV).&lt;div class="feedflare"&gt;
