Bluestreak's MachBlue Media Platform to use STMicroelectronics' Digital TV Decoder Chips
Monday, September 24th, 2007MONTREAL, Canada — Bluestreak Technology, Inc., the developer of the MachBlue™ platform for mobile phones and digital television, announced today that, together with STMicroelectronics (NYSE:STM), the world leader in Set-Top Box chips, the MachBlue platform will be using its STi710X family of decoder chips.
The MachBlue rich media platform enables enhanced UI and access to Web services including Flash® video found on the Internet directly from the Set-Top Box. MachBlue also enables the creation in Flash® of all these rich media services and takes advantage of the STi710x’s computation power and graphic capabilities.
This will bring a new level of interactivity and enhanced visual appeal to TV viewers. Bluestreak CEO Paul Forostowsky commented; “Bluestreak is already recognized as the leader in bringing rich-media content and services to Set-Top Boxes.
