A 24-year-old man died early this morning after rolling his 2006 Dodge truck in the desert area just northeast of Sagebrush Avenue and Dandelion Street.
A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officer was assisting Nye County Sheriffs Deputy’s in locating a vehicle that had been reported as a drunk driver at 2:27 a.m.
The LVMPD officer located the driver, but the man fled. The officer provided radio assistance to Nye County Deputies, but while doing so the man lost control of his vehicle. The driver was transported to Desert View Hospital in Pahrump, where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
The collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Accident Investigation Detail and Nevada Highway Patrol.
