I didn't announce I was away because it was only meant to be an overnight stay when I left on Sunday…

… but somehow

I turned a simple overnight into a 3-day stay

Or rather… my date did? 😉

The slower pace of life in the suburbs has a way of drawing you in.

Slowing you down and making you pause for a moment…

Just enough to breathe and notice everything around you.

Sometimes life is like that - no long planning…

Just going with the moment. 😁

When Thoughtfulness Feels Romantic

It's Friday morning.

The day before Valentine's.

The doorbell rang.

I barely reacted.

For the past two weeks my hallway has looked like a small distribution centre - boxes arriving daily while I've been lost in redecorating mode.

That morning alone I had already received a few large parcels, and one was still missing… so I was already slightly irritated.

Why couldn't they just bring everything together? 😂

When the bell rang again, I assumed it was the final piece.

I opened the door expecting something practical.

Instead, I was handed a box that looked… different.

Smaller. Structured. Definitely not flat-pack furniture.

'What's inside?'

I mumbled at the delivery guy as he tried to get his proof-of-delivery picture.

This didn't feel like home decor.

I went inside, put it down, and just stood there looking at it.

Why do we do that?

Hover over a parcel, frown at it, analyse it… instead of just opening it when it's clearly addressed to us? 😂

Eventually curiosity won.

I grabbed a pair of scissors and tore into it like a hungry lion.

Layer after layer of thick cardboard gave way… then I saw it.

A smooth black box.

With one word printed across it.

CHANEL.

Nahhhhhh… don't play with me!

I screamed.

Ran into my bedroom.

Ran back to the living room.

Picked it up ever so gently, like it was a soft, cuddly cat, and somehow found myself back in the bedroom unwrapping it properly.

A red Chanel bag.

I screamed again.

When I finally caught my breath, I just stood there looking at it in all its gorgeous lambskin glory.

Of course I screamed.

Stepped closer.

I felt the weight of it before it even touched me - thick, soft cashmere grazing my arms as he guided it over my shoulders.

His hands lingered slightly longer than necessary as he adjusted the collar.

Smoothed it down. Stepped back.

Then looked at me.

Not rushed. Not distracted.

Looked in.

That quiet pause -

the way a man takes in what he's chosen, what he's dressed, what he's provided - does something to me.

'You look incredible,' he said softly.

And in that moment, I didn't just feel incredible, I felt spoiled.

A few weeks ago I turned up nearly two hours early

and had to go back home.

British weather really does the most.

The Compliment That Hit Different 🖤

OMG, I'm on a high right now! 😀

I was on my way home from swimming lessons yesterday, but instead of hopping on a bus, I decided to walk and get my 10K steps in - swapped the gym for steps.

Anyway, I was strolling… and feeling myself.

The rain had stopped, the air was fresh, and it felt good to be out walking in London's hustle and bustle.

I was starting to get a little hot, so I took off my beanie, letting my neatly cornrowed head feel the breeze too.

Yesterday was one of those days I wasn't in my pretty-girl mood. No softness, no curves, no gloss.

Certainly no cleavage. 🤪

I was fully in my masculine energy.

Wearing a slightly baggy, black jogger set, a pair of trainers, glasses and a long Burberry trench coat.

The energy was giving gangster.

Bad boy vibes only.

Collar up, hands in my joggers pocket.

Coat open, flying behind me like I was in The Matrix.

Pure swag. 😎

It was rush hour, but I wasn't rushing like the rest of the city.

I was floating.

Shoulders relaxed. Grounded. Unbothered.

Just moving through the city like I owned it.

Then suddenly -

I heard, 'Excuse me!'

A tall, pretty woman caught up beside me.

I turned, slowed down and said hello - thinking she needed directions.

But she smiled and said:

'I saw you on the bridge and thought… you look so cool. I love your hair! The outfit, your style - the whole look is giving!'

She continued,

'I wanted to tell you, but I lost you. So I told myself, if I see her again, it's meant to be.'

I was stunned. Completely taken aback.

'Oh my gosh, thank you!' I beamed.

Now listen - I was already feeling myself…

But that compliment?

That sent me straight to Cloud 10. ☁️🔥

It wasn't just what she said, it was who she was.

A fellow woman.

And not just any woman - a beautiful one.

Nahhh. Someone pinch me!

Ouch.

You see, when a man compliments you,

there's always a chance he's trying to get in your knickers.

But when another woman stops you in your tracks just to say you look fly?

It hits different.

Feels real.

Validating.

Empowering.

Unless she's a lesbian… then you might still be in trouble. 😂

But jokes aside - that moment made my day.

It wasn't about being sexy.

And being seen exactly as I was.

Childhood Nostalgia 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Missing my childhood moments with my parents.

They always made such a loving fuss whenever I was ill.

They would offer me all my favourite food and drinks, but I never had any appetite.

My siblings would poke me to say yes so they could eat them for me 😂

A Monday in Motion ❄️🍲

Beating myself up - I was two hours early to Pilates today. 😭

Completely forgot I start later on Mondays.

I stood outside the studio for ten minutes, wondering why it wasn't open...

Then checked my diary and realised. 🤣😭

I could've had another 90 minutes in bed.

... And use the extra time for something... or someone else. 😉

And London was bitterly cold this morning,

icy patches on the pavement, light, but frosty wind.

And a surprisingly clear sky. Even the sun came out later.

So yeah, those ten minutes outside at dawn? Not child's play. 😂

After that chaotic start, I headed to the gym.

But I had an errand to run, so I thought: Let me get that out of the way first - just in case I turn lazy later with the weather being so cold.

That was the plan.

What actually happened was different.

Obviously. 😂

After getting off the first bus,

I decided to walk to my errand instead of hopping on another - only a 15-minute walk.

Finished that, and thought, well... gym is not too far either.

So I kept going - another 25 minutes.

By the time I reached the gym… the gym mood had left me... 😅

But I was already on a roll.

And the morning sun had started to shine - now one thing about the Brits is we go wild at the slightest hint of sunshine and clear sky... it doesn't even need to be blue lol.

...So I just continued.

Before I knew it,

I had turned myself into a tourist in Central London.

Strolling past landmarks in the freezing weather, whilst the frosted wind licked my face with every step. ❄️

By the time I checked my fitness tracker, I had done over 11K steps.

Woohoo! 💪

I think I had a proud little smirk on my face... but it was too frozen to tell.

After my joy-walker-about,

I finally jumped on a bus home.

Warmed up and got ready for lunch with my friend at Enish Nigerian Restaurant - just the kind of hot meal I was craving after that impromptu city hike.

I mean… who doesn't like food? 😀

When I told my friend about my morning adventure,

she looked at me like I was mad and asked, 'What were you thinking, in this weather?'

I said, I was just vibing… 😎

This woman replied, 'Yeah. With pneumonia.' 😂

An End-of-Year Celebration Date

A notification popped up on my phone just as I was dashing out to my morning Pilates class.

It was a booking request.

Ohh... this better not be a last-minute request. I'm not cancelling Pilates, I thought. 😅

After class - and the usual festive chit-chat with the girls,

I made my way to the gym, trying to squeeze in one last session before the year ended.

Don't get all sentimental on me... that wasn't dedication, that was making space for some New Year's Jollof rice, pounded yam with Egusi soup, and the snacks in my kitchen cupboard waiting to assault my taste buds. 😋

I got on the bus, found a comfortable seat,

and finally opened the email.

It was from a gentleman who had reached out a few months earlier about a date over the festive period.

He was now in London and wondered if I would be available to spend the last two days of the year with him.

Luckily for both of us,

I had kept an open diary around New Year's Eve.

And planned to visit family later on New Year's Day.

So I read with a curious brow...

Well, it depends on what you're offering,

I thought to myself, as I skimmed through the details for some itinerary.

Or info on the date activities.

And there it was - a detailed and tempting proposal.

An evening at Winter Wonderland.

Followed by two nights of luxury, intimacy.

And a slow welcome into the new year.

As you probably know,

I love a well-planned date.

If you didn't… well, now you do.

So what do you think I said after reading 'Winter Wonderland'?

Obviously, I said yes! 🥳

Mulled wine, German sausage, Christmas markets.

And that winter, London festive energy?

Pure fun vibe.

By the time I got off the bus, the booking was confirmed.

He had everything else arranged - hotel, dinner, activities - just waiting on me to tweak anything if needed.

I said nah, I'm easy - Hey… I am! 🤷‍♀️

This date played out a little differently from my usual multi-day bookings,

so I'll share...

Our first evening started with cocktails at a cozy, corner seat in Nightjar.

Think speakeasy, dim lights, live jazz.

And that perfect hush that makes everything feel more intimate.

After a few lavish drinks,

we made our way to Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland.

It was a cold evening, but perfectly so.

We wrapped up warm.

And my date kept the mulled wine and creamy hot chocolate coming...

Yes, together! At once. 😂

I had a fantastic time!

We wandered through the stalls.

Tried ridiculous sweets, people-watched, laughed.

And held hands under fairy lights…

It was festive, flirty and playful.

Although the date was a two-night, three-day booking,

I had my final morning Pilates and swimming classes of the year on New Year's Eve.

So, I had to skip slow mornings, blowjobs and cuddles for fitness instead.

Aww... poor me indeed. 😇

I think secretly, more than anything…

My date was just glad to have his arms back for a few more hours of beauty sleep. 😂

He had work to do that day, so I left him to it while I handled my own errands.

Later, I joined him back at the hotel,

where we got ready for dinner...

But not so fast...

I slipped off my coat.

Pressed pause - added a little rewind on the program.

Pulled on the lingerie I knew would put us right where we left off that morning...

Dinner was delectable!

A perfect Thai feast for a NYE celebration.

Flavourful, spicy, a little messy and just the right amount of indulgent.

We drank, we were merry.

We celebrated life.

Then we slipped back into our room...

Our quiet little oasis, just the two of us.

It was another fabulous night.

The company, the conversation, the chemistry…

It all just flowed.

Afterwards, we curled up in bed.

Switched the TV on and watched New Year's fireworks from around the world.

A slow, intimate way to welcome 2026.

The next thing I knew, it was January 1st.

My first morning of 2026 started quietly.

A little slower, softer.

I woke up in a beautiful hotel, in a warm bed.

Wrapped in the arms of a man who made it all possible.

I lifted my head from his chest and looked at my date.

Sleeping soundly, snoring loudly - but not bothersome.

In that moment,

I knew I was exactly where I needed to be.

Doing exactly what I love about my job - making my clients happy.

My Triumph Over The Enemies Of Progress

How did I get on this week with my new fitness routine?

I know the plan was a little ambitious - but like I said, it's go big or go home.

A bit like my boobs. 😀

Well, I'm proud to say I attended all 3 swimming lessons.

5 gym sessions and 3 Pilates classes… and arrived bang on time.

Pilates Chaos

Now, talking of Pilates...

I forgot my water bottle in the studio on Tuesday.

Which meant no water at arm's length for my gym session straight after.

That might not sound like a big deal, but when you drink like a camel - haha - it's bloody inconvenient.

Honestly, being forgetful came for me this week like it had a personal vendetta.

Because on Wednesday - I rushed out without my headphones. 🎧

I was halfway to the gym when I realised…

And in that moment, on a packed, steamed-up, rush-hour bus, I knew my enemies were at work.

To make matters worse, it was one of those British winter mornings - foggy, grey, cold, windy, wet.

All of it. At once. Typical terrible British weather.

So I braced myself - that session was going to be brutal.

But now that I think about it…

I never used to train with headphones.

Not even on walks.

Mainly because I tend to be in my own little world. My mind is very random. Haha.

Even when I do have them on, the volume is usually set low…

So I can hear myself think - about all the weird stuff bouncing around in my head.

Am I strange? I thought so.

That was until Wednesday, when one of the PTs at my gym told me he works out without headphones too.

So did my enemies win this week? Absolutely not.

Because while I've started this routine with music in my ears, it was a nice reminder that I still got it lol.

Headphones or not.

Bad background music or complete silence.

I'm already locked in.

No shaking. 💪

Swimming Update! 🏊‍♀️

Nah… swimming lessons own me.

I take two coached lessons a week and do one practice session solo.

This week, I was drilled like I was training for the Olympics.

Gentlemen - I was ready to sack my coach! 😩

To be fair to him...

It also happened to be that time of the month - when your energy goes from 100 to 50 just for being a woman.

So each lap took twice the effort.

My back ached. I started crying like a baby.

I'm a very dramatic woman. 😭😂

But my coach knows me too well.

He just looked at me and went:

'When you finish with all this drama, give me four laps with ten seconds rest between. You'll be just fine.' 😂

I can't hate him - we've come a long way. Hahaha.

Note to self:

Stop booking swimming classes on certain days in your cycle. 📝

Bonus Round: Broken Nail Chronicles 💅

As if that wasn't enough spiritual warfare for the week... hahaha.

I broke a nail in the pool on Thursday.

I'm not even sure how - all I remember is trying to grab something so I wouldn't drown. 🤣😭

Thank goodness it was only my shellac that scraped off - not the nail itself.

If you've ever broken a nail before, you know how painful it can be.

So yes, a big win on that front too. 🙏

Honestly, my enemies really tried it this week.

But thank God/Allah/the universe for my mother's prayers. 😂🤣😂
